If it happens again disconnect and reconnect the battery and make sure the connector is really tight. The problem sounds like what would normally happen during a faulty battery situation, but it's more than likely maybe the cable could be loose.

This. My 2017 Escape did some weird things for a bit when new. My Maverick cut out when accelerating from a stop once, one day the stop start didn’t work, the touch screen has done a few weird things as well. Now that I have about 700 miles on it, all is good.
Seems to me all the computer stuff has a break in period, kinda figuring itself out.
My 2012 Escape SE hatchback had no such problems when new. Was actually one of my most reliable cars I've owned so far. I had the DCT however and at about 80K and almost 7 years of ownership, the transmission shift lever would not shift out of park. These modern transmissions have an electronic lock out module requiring you to have your foot on the brake before you can shift into drive. It goes bad, you cannot put your vehicle into drive. Was a simple fix at the dealer but a pain as I had to have it towed there.

I don't think computers or electronics have break in periods. I would believe a glitch or hang between components of drivers, which would cause the need for a reset. In theory, it could be resolved in software. That being said, I'm no expert.

Best wishes. I hope your issue is identified and resolved without delay.

My 2020 F150 went crazy one day. I arrived home, shifted into park and shut the engine off.

When I got out and closed the door the radio was still playing.

I got back in and restarted the truck. Nothing on the cluster worked, the radio would not turn off.

I shut the truck back off, removed both battery cables, waited 30 minutes and reattached.

Everything was back to normal.

I went to the dealer and they said no codes.

Never had another problem.

What constitutes “high speed?” I’m assuming driving around 75-80 should be fine, right?
When I purchased a new Fiat 500 Abarth, it considered anything over 55 mph high speed during initial first few hundred miles of break-in.
I would consider anything over 65mph higher speed, seeing how most roads that are 75-80 are tolls.

I am coming to the Mav from a old school CJ7, no computer. This is the one thing about modern cars I am not happy with, if some little thing goes wrong with the computer or one of its 2,000 inputs the whole car/truck is caput until you get it to a dealer to fix.

Still can't wait to get my Mav next month, just a observation.

this is correct. The car's computers "learn" about you and your driving habits early on so they can optimize certain features and give you best performance.

Ricstar, computer controlled vehicles are so reliable and trouble free that you will be very happy having a bunch of sensors and chips monitoring your vehicles vitals for you.

10k oil changes, 30k air filter changes, 100k spark plug changes. I change the oil when the light comes on or annually. I change the air filter about every 10k or if I see my mileage start to drop.

One of the nice things about a computer controlled vehicle is that once you establish a mpg range, if your mpg starts to stray out of the low end of the range, something needs attention.

I've had plenty of oddball electronic issues with my Chevy Cruze. They sort themselves out.

Went to start my XLT this morning. Only a week one with 400 miles on the clock. Vehicle would not turn over. The dash was little and all power accessories were working. Finally started but every code started to appear...Hill Start Assist Warning, Service Engine Soon, Pre-Collision Assist Not Available, Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power. Pulled over and shut off the engine and waited a few. Started up again with no problem.

Drove to Ford and they scanned for any issues but couldn't find anything. Drove home about 20 minutes with no issue. Dealer said it may be an isolated issue and he is keeping the service ticket open for a few days just in case.

Has anyone had something similar happen?
is it possible you accidentally left an interior light on overnight or the headlight rotary switch position was bumped out of auto on/off (I'm assuming yours has this as most new cars)? If that happens your vehicle can switch into a low battery safety mode to insure battery doesn't get completely drained and leave you stranded. This happened on our 2018 F-150 when the headlight switch was bumped into "on" and not noticed being it was during the day. It sat like that for about 24hrs and when I went to start it gave all kinds of warnings in dashboard and even in the radio display. I did the remove & reattach + battery cable thing and checked voltage (it was still +12v) and truck fired right up, but kept the safe mode warning in radio display. I found a reset procedure on internet and got rid of the warning and never had another problem with it. YMMV

my 19 colorado would do that incessantly. Truck ended up getting lemon law bought back over it. I really liked that truck, 4cyl, 6mt. It’s ok though, I put 26k miles on it in 10 months, and they paid me back every dollar I spent on it, since I reported(and recorded) the first failure ON MY DRIVE HOME from
The dealer.

My Maverick is garage kept. After I park, I check to make sure all lights are off so I don't think I left a door open or a light on.
