Went to start my XLT this morning. Only a week one with 400 miles on the clock. Vehicle would not turn over. The dash was little and all power accessories were working. Finally started but every code started to appear...Hill Start Assist Warning, Service Engine Soon, Pre-Collision Assist Not Available, Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power. Pulled over and shut off the engine and waited a few. Started up again with no problem.

Drove to Ford and they scanned for any issues but couldn't find anything. Drove home about 20 minutes with no issue. Dealer said it may be an isolated issue and he is keeping the service ticket open for a few days just in case.

Has anyone had something similar happen?

I've read of similar issues happening to the Ford Escape. I can't even speculate the issues as it could be anything but I don't think it will be isolated to only a freak instance. If/when it happens again I would video tape (record) it and make sure it gets documented every time. Best way to get warranty work is to keep the dealer updated. Since I'm part of the Hybrid camp I can only hope this issue doesn't creep over. Best of luck!

All of the faults appears on Fordpass App and I showed that to the dealer. Video taping is a good idea.
Didn't think about they app tracking it, never had cool features like that before. I don't see how Ford can argue with their own records.

Dealer was very accommodating. Said it was the first Maverick they had seen.

I used to have a 2005 F150 that would occasionally go into fail safe mode. The engine would shut down while driving. More than a couple times I was doing over 50 mph and all of a sudden, no power steering, no power brakes. A very dangerous scenario. I would shift into neutral, turn off the ignition, restart the engine, shift back into drive and keep on trucking. I took it to the dealer and they repaired it under warranty. I still don’t know why there wasn’t a recall.

We had Jeep Compass that did something similar. Turned out there was a quick connect in the B-Pillar that wasn't plugged in all the way. Sometimes all the connections were made, other times all the alarms came on and nothing worked.

damn, that is such a bad sign, anything electrical is always a nightmare especially when it deals with the ECU and fault codes and the car having a stroke like that...definitely stay on top of it with pictures/video...

I have a 05 Honda CRV that started to randomly not start. Scanned for codes and nothing would ever show up. Took it to the dealer. They had it for 4 days and figured out it was the ECU. It was a 6 thousand dollar part. It was replaced under warranty.

This. My 2017 Escape did some weird things for a bit when new. My Maverick cut out when accelerating from a stop once, one day the stop start didn’t work, the touch screen has done a few weird things as well. Now that I have about 700 miles on it, all is good.
Seems to me all the computer stuff has a break in period, kinda figuring itself out.
