The manual and car if it's been reset will most likely tell you every 10K.
I'm old school. I change mine right after break-in about 1200-1500 miles, every 5K after that. I tow a camper in the summer so I keep to that schedule.

I have 3000 miles on my Lariat Hybrid, and I will change my oil now. I am from the old school and will change every 5000 after this. Even with full synthetic oil, it won't last for ever? The oil lasts, but it also gets dirty.

I think one should not exceed 12mo or 7500 miles between oil changes. In AZ with high temps and dust I have used 6mo and 5000 miles. @ $85 +-, the cost should not be a problem; but make sure you use full syn. oil !

Install the FordPass app on your phone. (My salesman did that for me when I took delivery.) Click on Vehicle / Status / Oil life to see what the Intelligent Oil Life Monitor recommends.

I changed the oil for my Maverick and my RAV4 yesterday, both hybrids, both about 6-7,000 miles since the last oil changes, and the old oil from the Maverick was darker than from the RAV4, so I think it's good to be conservative.

There should be an oil life gauge in your cluster. It's your choice to go by it or not, but most people change early. Just make sure you reset it once you change the oil. Go through your settings and check everything out. If you didn't know, you can also select which screens you scroll through as well. Let us know if you need help finding it. It's in the manual somewhere and I'll just screenshot you the specifics.

This is a Hybrid discussion. The gas engine simply doesn't run all those miles.
  • 1 year or oil life indicator below 20%.
  • Check the oil level and condition at fill-up.
  • I would not go beyond 7500mi for the 1st change.
Based on the oil indicator, I'd be able to go 1 yr or up to 12,000 miles. So many electric miles...

I did mine at 2500 and it was done by dealer with blended syn and I will do it again at (2.5k) 5000 miles but will have full syn put in and do it every 5k afterwards. At 10k or 15k I will have them send a sample in for testing. Then I will do my own changes and test it every 15k afterwards on my own. Did the same on my other vehicles except the Porsche, as I change it yearly and never get more that 2500 miles on it (11qts) but a quarter of the miles are on track as a pace car. Oil and filters are cheap vs the alternative.
