Since that never talked directly with the truck anyway, but rather to Ford's servers - it changes nothing on the truck side.

Truck still connects to Ford servers and uploads data after each park, and after starting.
And hourly pings to keep the network active, just in case they or you need to reach out to truck.
So if in terrible or no AT&T cell network coverage - still some extra drain on battery, or opportunity for a system to go nuts and really drain it.

Love just how cheap Ford is on this - cover doesn't even have place to store extra fuses like I've seen in most vehicles I've had. Now, I wasn't expecting them to supply them, way over budget then.
So no wonder fuse theft is on the rise.

Well at least the fuse box is accessible without having to pull the glove box or any other games of Twister. But it is a pretty cheesy cover that does not lend great confidence it won't get busted, dislodged, or something crazy happen.

Depending on the dealership they will slap a tracker on the vehicles. While Ford certainly does know where you are from the telematics. The more typical thing I have seen is the dealership attaches a 3rd party tracker. I found one on my Chevy Bolt. I called the dealer when I found it and asked them about it and it is apparently "routine" at that dealership. I said "I paid cash, why is this on my vehicle?". Them: "Oh we offer other services that you might be interested in..." Me: Ok, so I can jerk this thing out of here right? Them: "I will get back to you... Oh yeah, no problem you can remove it if you want."

So maybe there is a market for the dealership to also sell your info. I don't know how many layers there are to that onion. I haven't gone over the Maverick yet to see if the dealer I bought from are doing something similar. Your info is worth money to them for sure.

Yep, a panel that is fully exposed on the floor. Pretty bad idea by Ford, but it is what it is...

Dumb question, but what info does it send ford besides location. Could ford use info to invalidate warranty, e.g. excessive speed, towing to heavy or overloading. Or am I just being paranoid. Oh no gotta go the sky is looking like it may fall

Yep, passenger side on top of the carpet but under the floor mat if you have them.

You can google the articles that have been done and even some youtube videos pointing out the pretty outrageous behavior of these companies and what they are collecting and selling. Your telecommunications provider has rules, regulations, and laws regarding your data, and information. Apparently the OEM's have no such handcuffs. Insurance providers are a big buyer of this data.

I found a great place to store my removed 5 amp fuse - under the floor insulation where I dropped it!

After reading this post, I pulled my #11 fuse and now I have right passenger door perimeter sensor unlock/lock and dome lights!
