Saturday morning at 8am I got in my Maverick in my garage, started it up and drove 12 minutes to work. It was 50 degrees out here in California. Upon arrival within 10 minutes I noticed an alert in my FordPass app telling me my Maverick had gone to deep sleep. I went right out to my truck and it started right up with no indication there was any problem. I turned it off and went in to work for 3 hours. I left work and drove home with no other issues. I had never received such a deep sleep notification before or since. My Maverick often sits in my garage for a day or two before I drive it. My 2023 Lariat Hybrid has only 2200 miles on it. Was this just a glitch or should I be concerned?
Make sure you have a jumper battery with you at all times. A digital volt meter is handy as well to test your battery to makes sure it is above 12 volts after an occurrence

Well I must be missing something? I‘ve had my MAV since 12-21. What is deep sleep? my MAV is a 2022. I refer to it as a plain jane.

All great suggestions here but...I've been dealing with the notorious recurring battery saver mode for about a year and a half and no one has yet to figure out a common denominator. I hear about many dealers testing the battery and saying they are good, yet the problem persists. I hear owners resetting the BMS with no positive result. My dealer tested mine 6 months ago (third battery) and claimed it was indeed bad. They couldn't replace it because there was a nationwide backorder. No matter, I keep driving it. I've never had a no start condition or anything worse than the occasional battery saver mode or deep sleep. The recent cold snap we had in the midwest had no effect one way or the other so I have to discount the ambient temperature theory. A battery tender works great but why should anyone have to put up with that? I think the logical conclusion which is far from a solution is that something is drawing down the 12v, apparently at random. Maybe a module or some other accessory that doesn't shut down properly from time to time. Who knows? So far....NOBODY.

My issue seems like the opposite of yours. My truck showed no sign of being dead yet I got a notice in the app.
I have a first edition march 2022 hybrid. Several occasions of no dime lights. I do not use Ford Pass and have not noticed my phone connecting though I believe it was set up but would not bet on it. The wife's phone is set up and connects. I have never asked and she has not mentioned deep sleeping. I have PowerPoint voltage monitor In dash which I pull partially out before turning truck off to keep the led on it from keeping that circuit active for the programmed delay off. I did notice on my monitor after at 20 months or so and 22k miles when the reprogramming recalls 23E07 & 23E09 were applied that the running voltage went from 14.8v-15.2v to 15.1v-15.5v (15.6v sometimes but dropping to 15.5v in a short time) and stayed in that range for much longer time period. I have no idea if those updates directly addressed the deep sleep trigger points. When the Traveling Tech performed the updates in my drive while he was watching his laptop he commented "Those updates are changing lots of modules and sometimes the same ones". FWIW. If you have not had them done consider doing that. I also double lock my truck most nights as that turns off some of convenience lighting plus ? sooner. I did not put my noco genius 5 on my truck until after 20k miles as I wanted to see if battery would die. I am at 24.5k miles and currently have noco on truck (today is 4th continuous day and is in maintenance mode. Yesterday I caught it in optimizing slow blink which with the continuous draw on battery is not surprising. Going to need truck tomorrow so will disconnect noco and lock truck so the up to 6-8 hour battery learn procedure can happen (some of mid night clicking ?). Hopefully with the topped off optimized battery the BCM & BMS will have all their parameters learned. I intend to do this every 3-5 months no matter which brand or type of battery I have. Maybe I can get 6-8 years out of my 12v, only time will tell. Good luck on yours.

Is this Deep Sleep issue exclusive to Hybrids or can Ecoboost suffer from it too? Most respondents to this thread have Hybrids.

It can happen with EcoBoosts as well. Usually starts with their Auto Start/Stop system disabling itself.

Deep sleep is not just a mode. It is an indication of a problem. The battery voltage is below normal. My truck(2022 hybrid) had no issues for over a year. Now get deep sleep messages on Fordpass every day. Battery voltage is about 11.7v all the time when not charging. It doesn't matter how often or how far the car is driven. No starting problems, but it is probably only a matter of time. This is a problem with the battery and/or BMS.

I agree 1000%!!! Ford thinks this is a feature but when you hit 50% discharge level, your battery starts to degrade. This so called feature shortens the life the battery. It use to be the average life of a battery was 5 years...now it is 3 years and batteries are more expensive too!

I got my first deep sleep notification in the Ford Pass app last night, Because of all the threads about the issue I wasn't too concerned. However this morning I went out to run an errand and the battery is completely dead! No lights or any activity getting into the truck!

I connected an automatic battery charger, it comes on and shows the battery capacity at zero and the voltage at 4 volts. I left it on for a few hours and come back later to find it says battery failure!

Called Dealer and they called me back and will have mobile service come check it out tomorrow morning. It will be interesting to see what they say..

It's the dumbest feature I have ever seen. Lowers your confidence 110% .

Look at the window sticker. They ever list "battery saver" under features.

I wonder if "Battery Saver" might be referencing the $aving$ involved via installing crummy batteries in our trucks...

Some electronic controlled battery chargers or battery tenders need to see a certain voltage before they will charge. I can't remember that voltage, but if you are too low it may not be charging at all. I keep an old style shop wheeled charger that simply shoots voltage out regardless of the condition of the battery. If you can borrow an older charger like one of those, give it a try.

Here is a little more info on how to get a very dead battery back to life. Maybe.

https://www.chargingchargers.com/tutorials/battery-recognition.html

One of the video's guy says that level to start a charge is 9-11 volts. Anything much lower and a newer high tech charger won't recognize the battery. Time for the old school (my era, as in OLD) regular type straight charger.

I have an old style charger that I had loaned to my neighbor and was not able to try it yesterday.

However Ford mobile service came out this morning and took the battery back to the dealership for testing. They called about an hour later to say the battery was defective and would be bringing me a new one.

They showed up with a new (different battery) and then did the software update for the blinker recall. Here's the battery they installed.
