My Mav has been sitting since Friday morning, at home, while we're on a two-week long trip in our Sienna. Just got the notification today that it is in deep sleep. Took 5-6 days.

Also when we use the Mav for camping - simply loading/unloading the truck with doors open for a while = deep sleep. Will be glad to get this resolved at some point, hopefully paid for by warranty.

No starting issues and deep sleep is intermittent for me, so I'm not spending $ on an AGM just yet.

Oh, and the Sienna has lights that stay on longer than the Mav when loading/unloading it and power sliding doors and tailgate - yet no low battery issue. Ford cheaped out [on the battery size/quality] and also effed up the software for sure.

...Is there a way to make these lights not come on with door opens?
I think it's called Police Mode or some such. It can be enabled using FORScan. Do it yourself or find someone in your area who can do it for you.

In the mean time, double-locking it with the fob button should make the courtesy lights go dark almost immediately when getting out. If you don't like the horn honking when you do this, turn off "Mislock Chirp" in the truck's Lock settings menu, using the steering wheel buttons to navigate to the Lock settings.

Had to boost the other day. I just came back from the dealer and I'm out of warranty. Charged me for charging my battery and they said battery is still good. But there's obviously an issue that was causing the battery to drain.

Unfortunately that is the nature of batteries in any car. When you are camping you should switch the overhead toggle to the off position

Glad there is a fix coming. I installed a 10W solar hooked to under hood terminals and that ended the stupid deep sleep issue.

I have the ‘24 hybrid XLT. I previously posted :”Why should I charge my battery “?
I’m doubling down on that question.
It’s not my problem
Ford didn’t tell me I’d have to charge the battery if I didn’t drive the truck every day.
It’s gonna get cold here in Illinois. When my truck doesn’t start I’m going to call the dealer and say , “my new truck won’t start.”

I called Ford customer service this week. I told the representative “ If Ford expected me to charge my truck they should have told me. And they should have built in a charger . Something like a plug in hybrid would have. Opening the hood and connecting a battery charger is something I shouldn’t have to do.
I’ll keep you posted.

I posted this on a different Battery issue post. Sorry for the duplication....

I was constantly getting Deep Sleep and Battery Saver messages on my 2024 Lariat Hybrid. 2-3 a week. Its 9 month old, 7k miles. Heading into winter and i don't want issues So I bit-the-bullet and bought a EverStart H5 AGM from Walmart. I've had it a few weeks now, no problems.

Till today. The truck sat in my garage for 5 days while I was out of town. No battery saver messages. I opened the door and no dome lights or illumnated start button or misc dash light.. Before doing anything, I got my volt meter and tested the new AGM battery. It's at 12.7V. Opened/closed the door multiple times. No dome light. I then started the truck, let it run (no gas engine) for about 10 seconds. Opened the door, dome lights work. Tried door multiple time, dome lights still works. Has anyone experienced this or have any idea, what's going on?

One last note. I still have the original battery, in case I need to put it back in when Ford fixes the on-going battery issues. I fully charged it. Just sitting on my bench, it continues to hold a charge of 12.6V. When it was in the truck and I was getting battery saver messages, it would constantly drop to 11.7V to 12.1V

The AGM battery will last much longer. The AGM battery will not sulfate like a flooded battery. The AGM battery will recharge faster and stay charged longer than a flooded battery. The sleep and no interior light thing is a software program that is built into forscan. You will ocassionally still get this even with an AGM batter. The main difference is your battery will not go completely dead. Sulfation kills your cells. Not likely to happen in an AGM battery.

Ford said it will be issuing a software upgrade sometime early 2025 to remedy the sleep issue. Many have simply pulled fused #11 and gone on with their lives. Me, I like having the app so I can start my truck remotely and the info the app gives me.

My opinion is that by mid next year, this "sleep", no "dome light" issue will be gone.

Well - there's you with an actual measuring device getting a reading of 12.7.

And there's the truck sensor measuring device getting a reading of sounds like low enough it thinks it needs to save battery by disabling some items.
It could be wrong.

You would need a scanner on the OBD port that can read what the system thinks it's at only going into accessory mode. Go into On (without start) mode and you've connected the HVB which will now go to charging 14.x and not a good reading even if you click back to acc mode.

And some scanners read the OBD voltage, so just confirm nothing else plugged in. But that's sorta like you measuring so not really what's desired.
Some will go read the actual BCM or BECM PID that gives what the system is using in decisions for what it thinks the voltage is.

I've seen a difference between 12.3 read and 12.0 in PID. Also seen 12.0 read and pretty sure it was lower in PID.

Does that mean the initial batch of 25s will still have this problem?

I would guess not. There are a lot of issues the first 3 years revealed to Ford. Many of them they have addressed.

Except now you have a whole new electronic architecture introduced in the maverick (not ford), but how well will it play with rest of the systems is probably in line with what we have seen so far.

Don't hold your breath.

My original battery is working fine since I turned off and deleted FordPass. ‘22 Hybrid.
Definitely shouldn't have to disable features of your truck for it to work properly.
I use Ford Pass for my Perimeter Plus alarm notifications as well as remote start.
At the beginning of October when I had my free oil change - I told my local service department everytime I drive the truck, 5 mins after I get a notification
Screenshot_20240808_194652_Spotify.webp

They replaced my 12v battery.
Again, beginning of October 2024 my 12v was replaced
I started getting Deep Sleep messages on my 2nd battery at around 11 months, same as the factory installed battery. 2 dealers tested mine and wouldn't replace it. They said it tested good and would start the truck. They couldn't answer why it was going into Deep Sleep.
Changed the SOC with Forscan to 95% about 4 months ago and just got my first Deep Sleep yesterday since the change.
