Thanks. I was going to trim my 23 order down to an XLT with a trailer hitch and install all the other options I wanted myself. It looks like I will be installing a trailer hitch as well.

just got word mine has moved back to Sept 12 no word on hitch.

As I understand it, the hitch is not a bolt on. It is welded in. I would not remove from your order if you want it. Search the forums, there are threads about it.

It is bolt-on. When you buy the Ford accessories receiver you get the "crash bar" with the receiver welded on. That is why it is soo much cheaper to get factory installed. They just install different "crash bar" with the receiver already welded on. I don't like the difference in cost but I am tired of waiting for my maverick. 13 months and counting.

Last trip into the dealer they told me the hitch could be holding mine up. I laughed at them. This is the first thing they possibly got right lol. If I was ford I would try to get people to drop them because $100 is like free. That sucks if it comes true.

I ordered area 51 Hybrid lux w/hitch, inverter, & tailgate hinge lock on 10/26/21. Finally notified by dealer 9/2/22 of vin. No email notice of build date from Ford (yet) but dealer says they have ETA date of 11/10/22-11/17/22, so we shall see. My vin is B053nn. There is a good chance that the hitch WAS a constraint, which someone reported a while back, of course could be something else.

I just got off the phone with a Maverick customer service rep. They said all 22s not assigned a VIN by COB tomorrow (Sep 8th), will not be a 22. Said dealers should be sending out emails by the 12th letting us know, and how to reorder a 23. Said the reorder banks open on the 15th, and the new order banks open on the 30th.
Mine is a Alto Blue Hybrid Lariat with a tow hitch. They said my constraint is the tow hitch.

The tow hitch? That's so sad. I ordered mine pure base and passed on the hitch, ordered 10/25 and its in production this week. It's hard to believe that something simple like that would be considered a constraint, maybe they're just doing all no - option models til the end of this MY.

I wonder if the hitch is the same as used on the ecoboost cuz EB's are rolling out the door much faster. Doesn't make sense if it's the same part number.

The 4k rating requires AWD and has the 7 pin (trailer brake) option.

4K is a fairly low rating, so I'd hazard a guess that the 2k rating is a vehicle limited spec rather than the hitch itself. Likely the same hitch for all.

So I might be wrong but I think the constrained trailer hitches are the 7-pin version so maybe the Lariet is getting a 7-pin. On the XLT the tow hitch is a 4-pin and I believe is not contained.

I don't think the Hybrid has a 7 pin. The one post said it was a Hybrid that had been held up for the hitch. The 7 pin comes when you get the 4k tow package ( only available on 4wd eccoboost). All others get the 4 pin if you take the hitch option

My Lariat Lux Hybrid on the FORD order tracking site says (as expected):

• Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ 4-Pin Connector

Just got a VIN # and a production week of 10/17. Not sure why they would have given me this info if the 4-pin hitch is a constraint (unless I'm just plain lucky).
