Just wondering if it is allowed to go to Mexico and pick up our new babies? Wouldn't have to wait 4 plus weeks. Ford saves on train tickets. Plus I heard Volvo (Sweden) and BMW (Germany) will fly you to their plant to see your new car? Then ship them home after you spend time with them. Everyone wins ... right?

Could work. Got our VW directly from parking lot of assembly plant. Even had a van pick us up at airport. Took 20% of cost to ship it by boat to Delaware.

Probably not possible, since the dealer has to take possession before they can sell it to you

Things I would rather not do if picking up from factory was an option:
Passport.
Figuring out vehicle registration.
Travel costs.
Driving through central Mexico.
Driving through Texas. (user specific)
Adding 1000's of unnecessary miles to my new truck.

I'll wait the extra 3-4 weeks

You don't own the truck (yet)
It still belongs to FoMoCo until delivered to the dealer.
Once delivered to the dealer, it doesn't belong to you until you buy it.

Ford offers no such program at this time, at least in North America.

And don’t forget insurance. Most all insurance companies do not insure your vehicle if you drive it in Mexico. Therefore you would have to buy insurance in Mexico to get it to the states, then your insurance would take effect.

No, Ford sold the vehicle to the Dealer, not you. Dealer has to sign off on all the paperwork before they can sell it to you
