The only experience we have had with something like this is on a Bronco that made it to KC and then we were told that vin was being crushed. I think it must have been damage coming off the rail and couldn't deliver it. I don't know if they rebuilt it because the customer took an in stock Bronco instead that was very similar to his build. I will say that if there was frame damage they would have crushed the vehicle. If they are "repairing" it, I'm sure it is getting a whole new unibody shell. But it will be perfect when it leaves that plant or they won't allow it to go out.

Replying to all:
I called Ford customer service for the millionth time today. As I expected, they had nothing about it on thier end and no way to acess any information. They played the "you don't technically own the vehicle yet until it's sold to you card." All I really wanted was some transparency. A Rough estimate/updates about what was being done and when. Getting information about something that you're spending a lot of money on, shouldn't be this difficult.

My 2023 xlt hybrid was built in March. To make a long story short, it isn't here yet. After multiple changed eta dates, my dealership was finally able to get some information from Ford. Apparently, my Maverick was damaged somehow either at the plan, or during loading for shipping. It's currently at the plant "being repaired." No description of what exactly the damage is or any eta for the repair. To say the least, Im not overly excited about getting a "new" vehicle that's already been wrecked and sitting for 7 months. I feel like Ford should offer me something for the hassle. A rebate, a free accessory, something. What are my options for escalating this issue with Ford?
if it's transit damage there's no way the repair would not be up to the standards of a vehicle damaged in the plant......no phosphate ecoat protection, no baked prime, air dry enamel not nearly as durable......though you'll wait longer, don't take that vehicle....

In plant paint repair is baked with heat lamps for small repairs or in a programmable heat booth for bigger jobs. Prime, color and clear coat all from the same batches as production paints and baked.
Not to be painted areas are covered with HD aluminum foil for protection from the heat.

the paint used in the paint shop vs the "repair " paint used is much more durable, repair paint is "cut" whereas high temp paint isn't ....prime and enamel are baked at a much higher temp than is achievable with a heat lamp or a "spoven"....even with the aluminum foil, when vehicles are run through a "spoven" parts warp and become more brittle......my advice again is not to accept that vehicle.....
