Dear Ford. It's Me, Bob. My Maverick died today.

I remember everybody telling me I was wrong that the hybrid would be less reliable due to two power systems, a new system for Ford etc...dont think theres any question anymore.

It will have to go through at least 1 revision before I'd consider one. It's odd because it should work fine - it's not like it's all new components they used all this stuff before but there you go. Maybe they will have an AWD hybrid after they iron out the bugs.

For future reference, my truck is a hybrid. My build date was the week of March 14th. From what I can tell, build date doesn't matter...this isn't poor QC, it's a design flaw.

And for the record, overall I think the truck is AWESOME. However...

@Ford Motor Company : Don't make fools out of all the people that trusted your company and bought your new line of vehicles. Problems happen- a hybrid vehicle is a complex system. Now it's your turn to step up, fix the issues, and show that your company is trustworthy and better than the competition.

My 2.0 did die going down the interstate, way past scary. Mine was a fuel pump a month and a half later thaey found one and I'm up and running again.. And yes I still love my Maverick but......

you're in for a very long wait.. because they want to make a 4x4 plugin hybrid so if you want the last revision perfect maverick with most of every fix.. its going to take awhile..

i have 1700 miles on my hybrid.. no dead battery but i have my clamps ready .. i have the feeling that my march built is no different than everyone here. Why would it…. because mine was built when they ran out of tequila at the plan?

Seems that this is a clear cause issue. How many cases are required for a recall notice?

Unless there is a crash, fire or a death it usually takes many thousands to report an issue before you might get a recall

That is why it’s critical to report issues like these to the government so there is a paper trail and motivationto fix on Fords dime.

I watch a lot, but not every minute of Tims @fordvideoguy shows on Tuesday and Thursday. Has he mentioned if any of their customers have run into this and are the Mavericks being built now using something more solid ?

We have had 0 issues at our dealership and the Service Manager hasn't seen a TSB or recall on the Maverick yet. He has been keeping his eye out for me.

Don't know if the factory is doing anything differently. I'm sure they are aware and have updated their process.

Pretty sure this is the wrong thread to be complaining about your order, could have sworn this thread had to do with hybrids malfunctioning

I had a 2013 Ford CMax for 8 years and it never died. On the other hand I had my 2019 Hyundai Kona EV for 2 years and it was always dying. I’ll opt for the hybrid.

Sounds like you had a tough day It’s been hard getting a new vehicle lately. It sounds like you’re working with a crappy dealer…the Ford truck is great! I hope you can find a better dealer or a vehicle that works for you.

Call Ford and see if you are scheduled. Maybe dump some of the bloat/constraints.

TBH Ford doesn't care that you're mad. And the dealer would love to have the extra stock if you cancel. You want one of the hottest vehicles on the planet at MSRP, you gotta wait.

I hope Ford sends out some kind of information to the dealerships. Seems every week someone new is posting on this forum that they have a dead hybrid...

This forum can't really be used to judge the scale of this problem. We'd need to know how many Maverick hybrids were produced and how many have presented with this problem to know for sure how big of an issue this is. I suspect it is a very very small percentage.
