I'll be curious to see your explaination of the seemingly unexplainable, Ford's allocation system. While you are at it, care to dive into their scheduling process? I'm still on the fence to lose my place in line by taking my business to a dealership that's on their scheduling radar.

You have a build date of 8/26 so that will be the day it goes into production. Since that is this week, that shouldn't change. I don't know what those all mean, they are information for the factory to know what ramp it needs to be sent to and where it needs to get off the rail.

From Tim's webcast here are snapshots of the new allocation method that Ford is putting in place starting in September:

These are the screen shots I will reference many times to understand and elaborate on in the future. I'd like to see the slides added to a sticky MY23 build price guide thread in the future. The original one has a wealth of information and helps me understand documents, terms and codes for my 22 order.

I'll post images without my ugly mug on them in the morning when I get to work.

What a complicated sales prevention system…

No wonder Jim Farley wants to replace all of this with online sales. Dealers would then just deliver based on territory, which means actual customer orders would then become the de facto “allocation” system.

I watch Tims Tuesday and Thursday night shows almost every week, but had trouble staying awake during that allocation section lol. Reminded me of Algebra 1 and 2 and Trigonometry in high school. Had no idea what was going on, what it was for, and knew I would never use it after high school. Somehow I got C plus to B grades in it, probably because I am not a loud snorer.

I was lost. I admit it. I understand some of it, but my God what an unnecessary kluge of over complicated formulas. I try not to be too critical of anything I do not fully understand, but this all seems to be a bit over the top, IMHO.

Huh, this actually makes sense. I don't agree with the business goals of it, but I see how this would make sense in Ford's old school business fashion.

I think Ford really needs to go higher when designing things like this. Focusing on the how often doesn't answer the why. It seems their Why is more catered to keeping dealers happy than keeping ford customers happy.

While this formula might make sense for dealer stock, it is badly strategized for custom orders.
