I placed an order for Ford part K2GZ 6A49A - engine cover for the 2.0L EcoBoost and was told the part is now discontinued. I asked my local dealer to do a locate on the part and nobody locally has one. Does anyone have an ideas, source etc. for the cover? I read somewhere that it is used on the Escape w/2.0L and possibly the Bronco Sport. Did Ford delete it in the process of removing content and saving $$$?

It's used in too many applications and recently to be discontinued without a replacement.
They have been backordered from manufacturer since January 2022.

Thanks - that was my sense too - that it is currently used. I found a similar part number that ends in "B" [not A which is what I am searching for] That engine cover ending in B shows the application being the 2.0L in the Lincoln Nautilus. I know the B is not randomly assigned and it doesn't make sense for Ford to give a part that is used on multiple models a separate number unless there is a substantial difference they are not interchangeable. Any idea if the part with the B would fit the same as the one ending in A?

The one that has the "B" in it may say "Lincoln" on it, but I'm just a casual dummy. Perhaps you could find the part in a junkyard? Maybe at LKQ auto parts (a multiple location junkyard)

Junk yard = yes, that crossed my mind as a source. I may have to go that route.

My wife drives a 2.0T Lincoln Nautilus and as you can see, there is a Lincoln Logo Badge in the lower left hand corner of the Engine Cover.
That's got to be the difference in the "A" and "B" versions of the Engine Cover Part Number..

Hi and thank you so much for taking the time to provide the photo. You solved my dilema. Looks like only a cover from a Ford badged 2.0L EB is what I am after.

I know I'm getting old because I can remember people complaining when MFGs started covering engines with plastic. You couldn't see the engine...it's harder to access...I can't show it off...my, we've gone full circle!

Same issue for the 2.3 Ecoboost in the Ranger.
I found one on ebay from an Explorer that has a different part number. Fits my 2019 Ranger perfectly. They are out there if you’re persistent.

So these are junk yard only parts at this point? These are from 2020-2022 Escapes only?

I should have taken the one from my 2020 Escape. I did find one for a 2020 Escape from a Ford dealer in Ohio, who was on Ebay. I bought the parts there.

I'm in my 30s and cannot fathom spending a penny on a plastic cover for an engine that no one but you and your mechanic will ever see.

I'm with you. Show it all off

Hi and thanks for the offer. I will wait until production catches up and buy it with my FordPass points. I was told the part will be available after the first of the year.

My experience with the cover on other vehicles is that it projects the engine sound downward and less engine noise is discernable inside the cabin. That is the reason - slight noise reduction- that I want the cover. And I think it makes the engine compartment look tidy and the vehicle upscale. It is just a little tweak, along with the tailgate damper and plug for the hole in the trailer hitch that I want to do to. The engine cover is definitely not required to make it a great little truck.
