Finalized preview sheet with dealer today over the phone and was told they would put in the order immediately after the call. E-mail from Ford (via reply <at> t.email-ford.com) arrived 15 mins later.

I've heard this story several times already. The dealer or salesman "calling his shot" in response to a disgruntled customer's plea for action! Several have said "You'll see it(email)in a half hour". They seem to know when it will arrive after submission!I was told the order was placed on Thursday by salesman. I don't think it was. Had some communication with sales manager Friday and was told I'd see an email shortly. Then got an email from Ford about an hour later.
ConfirmedThat's the first I've heard of a tracking number upon submitting an order. To me, it is great news that your salesman is communicating with you!

There is a field called "Tracking Number" as part of the order enrollment process. It is on a screen where it says something like "thanks for enrolling this order. Your claim is being reviewed and you will hear back within 72 hours. Call Ford Corporate if you have questions". It is a dealer thing, not a customer facing thing.That's the first I've heard of a tracking number upon submitting an order. To me, it is great news that your salesman is communicating with you!

I got the same thing from my dealer this morning. I ordered yesterday and hadn't received an email. Sent him a text because I wanted confirm my order had been submitted.
