The EB 2.0 Maverick has one battery only, BAGM48H6760. The model number indicates both the group size (48/H6) and the CCA (760). Did anyone replace this battery with the same, or different battery? I'd appreciate some feedback on this subject.

Thx...

The battery should last 8-9 years, curious why you would want to replace it already?

There are numerous options. Check your local auto parts stores, walmart, etc.
Duralast, Optima, Everstart just to name a few. But would be surprised you would need to replace the factory one at this point, especially being under warranty

AGM batteries last 3 - 4 years, depending on number things, including driving...

The battery in my truck does not hold the charge:

Ford Maverick EB 2.0 battery replacement... 1699111570699

Getting the battery replaced by the dealer is a crapshot. They may, or may not have it in stock in which case, it needs to be ordered. Based on my research for the OEM battery, even Ford website has it back ordered. With that stated, the truck is going into service next Friday in case they have one, or can get one in reasonable time frame.

Winter is just around the corner and I would not want to go into it with a crappy battery. The third-party batteries are batter than the OEMs and I want to change it. I've been changing batteries in my vehicles ever since I have one, was just looking for any "gotchas" in changing this battery....

Thx...

Bought my EB back in December of '21 . I have had my battery replaced twice under warranty (Most recent 11/1/23) Both times with the newer AGM ford battery.

I was just as surprised, when figured out that my Chachkie has a crappy battery.

I've settled on EverStart, with DieHard as backup, in case the dealer cannot get one next Friday.

I just don't know any specific for changing the battery for the Maverick EB 2.0....

Ford dealers get their Motorcraft battery's from a Motorcraft warehouse distributor not from the Ford PDC's.

The Motorcraft WD local to me is showing 1389 BAGM48H6760'S in stock so they don't appear to be on back order.

When I took mine in Monday to have the start/stop checked they said my state of charge was only 56%. They charged it up to 87% if you can believe them and said both the battery and charging system tested okay. They say I don't drive it enough and need to put a battery tender on it. I don't put a ton of miles on it but I drive it 3-5 times per week. I know there are a lot of drains on the battery now even after you park it but they should have that in mind when they spec the batteries and charging systems.

Many people who live in cities and suburbs don't put a ton of miles on their vehicles especially with people working at home or in my case retired. I was not offered a replacement but will be having that discussion IF they ever call me back.

If the start/stop does not work based on my driving habits I might be able to accept that but I'm concerned about the truck starting this winter when the temps are lower.

Thx... I couldn't find the Motorcraft WD in my neck of the wood. None of the dealers at reasonable distance from had the battery in stock, they state that it is back ordered...

One of the dealers had a schematic drawing for the battery, that included the trays as well:

Ford Maverick EB 2.0 battery replacement... battery bracket

That's helpful to know, in case I do need to install my own either now, or later.

Removing the battery bracket's two stud/nuts (2 x HN2), seems simple, as long as removing either one of them don't drop stud/nut somewhere in the wheel well.

Disconnection the positive cable from the battery seems like trouble. There are to separate feeds are bolted to the lower tray, going downward:

Ford Maverick EB 2.0 battery replacement... 1699123991604

These cables have solid connections between the battery and the battery tray. Certainly, as usual, start with disconnecting the negative cable connection, but it also has some quirks:

Ford Maverick EB 2.0 battery replacement... 1699124293320

I've never seen a wire connecting from the negative terminal to the positive one. I do hope that the dealer will have a battery by next Friday and it'll address the issue with the battery. At the very least, it'll get me through the winter and change it in the spring to an Everstart AGM battery. Or just sell the Maverick in the spring....

No way! Obviously something is killing that battery.
Negative!! Defective. Nothing is killing it. The voltage is just low enough to prevent the stop start from working. That is enough for a warranty exchange..

Similar to my electrical system, most of the times the start/stop disabled by the system due to not enough charge in the battery. The battery also does not hold the charge in my case. After driving the truck for 10 - 15 minutes and the alternator fills up the battery enough, the system may, or may not enable the start/stop 1-2 times, then disables it again. It's a crappy battery...
