I have owned a lot of what I would call "fast cars". It is not abnormal to feel a little squeemish when the speed threshold exceeds your comfort zone. Flying an airplane is all grins and giggles until you go to land, then you pucker up. Anyone who says different was doing it on a video game. Same in a road vehicle. 55 MPH is 81 feet per second traveled, 85 MPH is 125 feet per second, and 105 MPH is 154 feet per second.
I have had my Maverick 2.0 AWD up to 105 twice passing in a place that was flat and clear visibility far. The Maverick handles just fine at those speeds on the right type of road. I enjoy living more than I do going 105 MPH and don't drive that fast as a habit.

On most of the wasatch front (where we do the large majority of our driving), speed limits on I-15 are 65-75mph. Once you get outside of the cities it is primarily 80mph. You aren't getting away with driving 20mph over (anywhere) for very long in Utah, but it seemed to be the minimum in northern California. A LOT of drivers in some of the less dense areas between Reno and San Francisco (on 1-80) were obviously going well over 100.

FWIW, I am from LA and wife is from the Bay Area. We both left ~15yrs ago, and would never ever consider moving back, but we do visit occasionally.

No doubt. It's just a touch tighter now ;). It will go great with the coilovers.

I have been wondering for awhile what folks experience is with the Maverick over 80 mph. I'm a little ashamed to admit it but I occasionally drive at high speeds. It seems to me, that my Maverick hybrid is not really stable at those speeds. Is it my truck? Am I asking for too much or should I just slow down? Inquiring minds want to know.
85 to 90 passing very stable

Got to 103 last weekend passing one of the many idiots on the highway that wouldn't get into the slow lane and sped up when you would try to get around. 65 To 103 was really quick!

I know a person who drives 80, like the one you know, for science, and they are showing around 36-38 mpg on the computer, and calculated is 36mpg. They tried going 75, but it just felt too slow...
Cruise control RUINS mpg on hills! It will drop down a gear or two just to maintain speed going uphill; then completely lift off of the gas going downhill. Both are wasting gas.
Don’t be afraid to lose speed while climbing. Ease off.
Get it back, and then some, going back down, with some momentum for the next climb.
If it’s not flat terrain, CC is very easy to beat.

I have found that I have slowed down driving the Maverick. I came from a Subaru Forester with the boxer engine that just begged to be revved and an all wheel drive tuned to get you through the curves quick and securely

The Maverick is a little different. It is ultra elegant slipping through the neighborhood on electric only. Stately going around curve with it's higher center of gravity. Effortlessly, accelerating to pass other cars or accelerating on the ramp to the highway. Getting progressively louder as your speed climbs, but always with lots of peddle left if you need to go faster. The copilot 360 helping with the steering. I just relax and take more time.
*Sigh* <unzips>

I think my Ford Exploder has a general on it, it won't go over 80. :(

I have the XLT hybrid and have over 10,000 miles. I enjoy driving it too much ;). I don't drive it much over 70 but it gets there quick! It must have something to do with not shifting gears or something?
I'll take the over 40 mpg over the over 80 mph. I've had it there, and it felt very safe, but prefer the gas mileage.
10K??? My mav order dated 7/30/21 is going in for production NEXT MONDAY!!! Whoop!!!

I have had Several sprints up to the 108 MPH governor...2.0 AWD...No Problems [as the young folks say]. At 775 miles or so the dealership replaced the Continentals to GoodYear Assurances. Ride is much better but they were changed because the Continentals had divots, humps and bumps in the sidewalls.
