When I get out of the truck, the driver's door locks automatically. It is very annoying to step out for a moment to operate a gas pump, and then turnaround and not be be able to open the door. Fortunately none of the other doors, including the passenger door, lock automatically. Is there a way to disable this?

There are prior posts on this. You are not alone. I too had it happen a few times. It is user error.

I noticed when I unlatched the door, my hand rolled to the left and inadvertently engaged the lock.

Now that I am aware, it has not happened again. The design of the the lock right above the release and the soft touch required to engage the lock contribute to this.

Well done, posting something that has nothing to do with the OP.
Well done, contributing something that also has nothing to do with the original post either….. do you own a Maverick, can’t tell from your sig.

I had the same happen to me. When I looked at the handle and lock it was pretty apparent what I had done. I take care to not hit the lock when I exit the vehicle. It has not happened again.

Enjoy!

I learned that my ambitious Lab can hit the door lock button on the passenger door. Been locked out once. Take your key!

That's funny.
One of our dogs, would stand on armrest and roll the window down with her paw. We had to start using the child window lockout.

Oh is this an owner only forum?
Considering one, that make it ok to be on here?

I agree it's a not a good design, and I regularly hit the lock when opening the door. Even though I'm aware of the problem I still continue to inadvertently hit the lock when I open the door. Fortunately I'm in the habit of unlocking all doors when I get in the truck.
