Explain to me why I hear the door lock at that point. And why it's NEVER happened when I am alone - only when my wife opens the passenger door first. Go ahead. Explain it.
OK, I’ll try. It doesn’t matter if your wife opens the door first or second…. you’re still hitting the lever with your hand or finger. 😂😂. You are not hearing the door “lock” ….that is the clicking of the engine when the hybrid stops.

I am quite well-acquainted with the clicking noises that come from the vehicle at various times. The sound of a door lock engaging is, in an otherwise quiet garage, significantly louder and sharper than any of those clicks. And you have not explained how this happens only when I am next to the rear driver's side door and my wife opens the passenger door (which is only about 10% of the time that I approach the truck to unlock it). It hasn't happened a single time that I have been alone. And I do nothing different in exiting the truck, whether or not I know she will be getting in the next time, because half the time I don't even know that ahead of time. Again, oh wise one, explain that. We're all waiting.

Well, the common denominator seems to be your wife’s presence. Tell her to stop hitting the door lock. 😂😂😂

Please, please, please, video it or record the ‘sound’ so we can all be believers! 😉

If someone can tell me how it would benefit me to bother making and uploading a recording of this happening, I'll do it. Benefitting me would be something like improving my situation. Proving trolls who are so insecure they have to try to discredit others for no reason to be wrong does nothing for me.

If I do take the time and effort to record it happening, it would be to show to the tech at the dealership, but I don't anticipate them childishly accusing me of lying about my own personal experience, so it's unlikely I would feel the need to do so.

I sure wish someone would record and post this Autolock phenomenon happening to them. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Help me to understand how refuting someone's personal experience, which has been repeated many times, helps them.

Ooh…ooh… I can answer this one. The reason is because you’re the fourth or fifth guy in the last year that has brought up the same self locking scenario, has been adamant about it …but has yet to take a video of it doing it …to “help prove” that it is really happening. So the score right now is Mav forum 6….guys that can’t prove it….0. myself and several others will be the first to eat crow if someone shows this truck locking itself. And I’m not talking about an accidental bump with the remote in your pocket. 😊😊😊

If your truck is not functioning correctly the thing to do is contact your dealer or another qualified repair facility, not go on the internet and argue with strangers as to whether or not it is malfunctioning.

My guess is that the dealer will show you their TSB about this known issue. Which by the way highlights user error as the most likely cause.....

Please go argue with them and get the truck "fixed"

Ford's response to uncommanded locking of the driver's door.

Well, this happens on my '25 Lariat, and I can tell you with 100% confidence that I am NOT accidentally locking the door when I get out. How can I be so sure? It happens when the truck is in the garage, so I have to walk very close - sometimes in contact with the side if the truck - as I approach the driver's door from the rear of the truck. The fob is in my pants pocket. If my wife opens the passenger door when I am still by the rear driver's side door, I can HEAR the driver's door lock. That's not me accidentally locking it, it's the damn thing locking itself.
Simple question. If your wife opens the passenger door while you are at the rear driver side door how the HEDOUBLEHOCKEYSTICKS are you locked out? Is it IMPOSSIBLE to open the driver's door? If the answer is NO then you are NOT locked out. you have a Lariat so as soon as you touch the outside driver's door handle with the fob in your pocket the door unlocks. How do I know? I have a Lariat. And if I stand at the rear driver's side door and my SO touches the passenger side front door ALL doors unlock because the FOB is close enough to engage the auto unlock. Now tell me that YOUR driver door can not be opened with your wife inside the truck after opening her door. If that is true SHE is locking you out!

Or….. if your wife is STILL in the truck and you can’t open the driver‘s door…. drumroll please…. you pushed in the lock lever with your hand when you got out. Wait a minute didn’t we talk about this already??? 😂😂😂
