Double horn beep

Has this been resolved? Mine has recently started doing this...like the OP. Car is off, key fob in my pocket, open driver door, 2 annoying honks.

I get this maybe once a week. Mystery to me. Keys in pocket. Car in Park, which it does anyway when you turn it off. I keep wondering if I'm brushing some steering wheel button exiting the vehicle.

Mine does it and it seems randomly. Only thing I can think is that I open the door before the computer has a chance to confirm the vehicle is off and in park.

That's what I'm thinking. Mine does it randomly as well, after I shut the truck off then open the door.

EcoBoost here. Beeps if running and I get out and close the door. Same for passenger door.

My XL has been doing this, random and annoying as hell. I think a poster above is correct that it's some sort of timing thing in the computer. Need to see if I can totally disable the double honk in forscan.

I sometimes get a double horn beep when exiting my hybrid Lariat/Lux. Does anyone else get this? What is this trying to tell me?

Same here, happens a lot, have a Hybrid, turn off, remove key and open door then double beep

Do you have the car locked, with your key in it? I think it will beep/double beep then as well. I will have to go test it later this afternoon.

The horn beeps happen when I open the door after shutting down the car.

Same here... turn off mav, remove keys from ignition, open door to exist, and horn beeps 2 times. Has happened 3-4 times over 9k miles.

I have an XL Ecoboost. I get the 2 beeps pretty often. The vehicle is turned off and when I open the door to get out I get the 2 beeps of the horn. The first few times I thought that I may have not put the truck in park before turning the key off, but that is not the case, I have been very careful.

Exactly the same for me. It happens to me frequently. Sometimes multiple times per week. It's very annoying and confusing.

It might be that when you pull the release lever on the door you are accidentally pushing the lock toggle immediately to the left of the little lever arm that opens the door???

Twice today for me. Put the truck in P, shut off the engine and remove the key from the ignition. Open the door to get out and I get two beeps of the horn like I am forgetting to do something. I am hitting nothing that I know of on the steering wheel with my elbow. Does not do it all the time. Very weird, definitely a Do Funny.

Is this thread suggesting this happens randomly, or are ya'll getting out of the vehicle while it's running and closing the door when it happens? Because that can be disabled with ForScan.

If it is happening randomly, I'd like to think it is still the same issue related to the double honk while running and will stop if ForScan is used. Wouldn't surprise me if this is another issue with Mavericks that happens randomly, since there are so many... just saying...

IMHO, just another stupid safety "feature". I wasn't expecting it from the EB coming from a Hybrid Escape but there it was... literally one of the first things I did to the truck was disable that crap. People would give me the stink eye at car washes. Like "why tf did you just honk at me?".

Not sure what that is. Reversed into my garage, put in park, removed key and opened the door with the interior door handle. No one else was in the vehicle. Very random double honk, maybe I shut it off in reverse but I doubt it.
