Guys, I searched owner's manual, google and threads and couldn't find any info on this. I have a Lariat 25 with passive entry when I get out of vehicle with key fob in pocket I just touch the top of the door handle to lock the door, but the horn doesn't beep and when I go to check if the doors are locked I am inadvertently unlocking the door when grabbing the handle. If the horn would beep (like when I use the key fob and press the lock button twice) it would confirm the door is locked.

Is there any way to accomplish this?

Not sure if the horn is supposed to beep, but I think you can still try the back door to see if it locked? If I remember (I may be wrong), the back doors do not have the handle lock/unlock feature.

I don't believe it is supposed to beep. I lock it the way you suggested, by touching the top of the door handle and listening for the "click" to let me know that it has locked.

You have a few seconds to check the door handle after locking it before the touch unlock is re-enabled.

Both Dave and Chris are correct.
One thing to consider…….
Touching the door handle will lock the truck, but will NOT arm the alarm.
Double clicking the fob will.
As will touching the bottom two keys of the externally mounted keypad.

The lights don't flash on the 25MY like prior years?

Like the OP, I've noticed this and it drives me crazy. Glad I'm not the only one.

If anyone knows of a solution, please post. The way it is implemented is terrible and unlike any vehicle I've ever owned (going all the way back to my first vehicle which was a 1993 model year) where clicking lock on the key fob would honk the horn to indicate it was locked.

My other new car, a 5th gen Prius, doesn't honk the horn, but it does make a unmistakable audible noise when touching the lock on the door handle (or using the key fob). Either way, I want a very clear noise that indicates it is locked. I'm very, very surprised it doesn't do this and has lead to a lot of confusion on my end. Terrible, terrible design.

If ForScan can do this, that's also a solution

I manually lock the door on switch on the inside of the door before I climb out. I can here the click.

Basically...NO. From your above comments, the horn is designed NOT to beep doing this. Same way when you lock the truck with the bottom two buttons on the external keypad. Horn does not beep...but truck is locked and alarm set. Only way to hear the horn beep when locking is to hit the lock button on the fob.
