Does the hybrid Maverick have a beltless engine?

Can anybody confirm if the hybrid has a beltless engine, like a Toyota Prius? Are all the accessories like the power steering, AC compressor, and water pump powered by electricity, eliminating the need for drive belts? If so, this is an advantage of the hybrid, in my opinion. Less belts means fewer moving parts and less maintenance.

From what I've read and seen on mine, almost everything is electric EXCEPT cabin heat is from the engine heat. So you want warmth it forces the engine to run and get hot so you get heat.

I am guilty of not turning on my heater for my kid in the morning... I just have them wear a jacket. I'm in SoCal so its about 45 degrees, not bad at all but it is chilly for CA standards. I am also guilty of turning on the heated seat to keep my butt warm. All for the MPG. Sorry kids. Daddy loves you and wants to save the earth for you.

I have a 2015 Cmax and when I heard a squealing noise so took it to a small shop and they tried to sell me a new serpentine belt and idler. Went to auto parts store and they sold me the parts but I couldn't find where or how to replace. Went to Ford and found out there are NO belts on the hybrids. So much for the reliability of repair shops and auto part stores.......LOL

I really don't understand that kind of attitude. I'm not driving an ox cart in some third-world country and if I only get 597 miles on this tank of gas that seems like a small price to pay for being comfortable on my commute.

Because a good chunk of context was taken out the way you quoted his post? 45 degrees is a light jacket, and not uncomfortable inside a car. It's not really such a big compromise.
By the way from what I've seen if the heating is on frequently good luck getting near 600 miles, it's a huge hit to the MPG.

Not only that...

My hybrid has the new chip-less engine. This design eliminates the need for gasoline, tires, or even a driver. The truck will last for decades.

Eventually it will be covered with sand and disappear from view. But maintenance costs are zero and it will never wear out.

Indeed. I see people (not many mind you) wearing shorts and light jackets when it's 14F, 45 is a warm winter day!
