Does the front plate bracket get factory installed?

My state requires front license plates however and I noticed it was on my order sheet from the dealer. I asked my dealer to remove it and he said he can't. Does anyone know if the factory installs the bracket or if it is just on the build sheet and the dealer installs it? I really do not want holes drilled in my front bumper!

The dealer installs the front plate bracket. Also you have to ask for the bracket at no cost if your state doesn't require one. The next owner may live in a state that does require a front plate, and will need one.

Required in my state. I attached it using heavy duty zip ties.

And no, it doesn't affect operational temperatures. I did the same thing on my 2015 Prius.

That location shouldn't be a problem for a hybrid, but I wouldn't suggest putting it there on an Ecoboost to partially block the intercooler.

It is on the invoice automatically, in my state front plates are only required if installed and my dealer told me they only install them if they are headed to california.

If you want another variant in the answer, if you order from a state that does not require a front plate, you have to ask them to manually add a front plate bracket to the order (still a "free" addition with no cost associated with it). How do I know? Ordered from Kansas twice and had to edit my order after it was submitted both times to get the front plate bracket added to the order.

I don't mind the factory plate holder. It looks like everyone else and saved me the trouble of having to mess around with it.

How did they get that so wrong? There's usually a couple dimples cast into the plastic where you have to drill the holes.

No. Forgot to ask my dealer to not drill my bumper, then on pickup day my salesman told me, "I told them not to drill your bumper. But just so you know, it's illegal to not run a front plate in Washington...do with that what you will *wink wink*."

It's a secondary offense in Washington and I've yet to be stopped for anything else, so no ticket.

I'm in WA too, and like others, my dealership put the plate holder on very crooked. It killed me seeing it every time I looked in the direction of my truck. I finally pulled it off the front and glued plugs into the bumper (like @CurtisB), and then painted them with touchup paint. Not ideal, but far better than a very crooked plate.

And I checked around - it may be required in our state, but it's a fix-it ticket that can be dismissed by adding the plate, if a ticket is ever given in the first place. I talked to some folks about how likely it is to get a ticket like that in our area, and it appears to be VERY unlikely unless you really like pissing off cops (and I really don't). So, my front bumper remains clean

They got my rear plate crooked. Completely missed both dimples.

I fixed it when my perm plate showed up and I took off the dealer LP frame.

It's dealer installed. I hated it. So I lowered where mine is now. Looks better and yes, I don't mind the black plugs. And no, it doesn't affect operational temperatures. I did the same thing on my 2015 Prius.

That's how it should come installed. Hate it on the painted bumper.

Same here. Realy fu*ked my rear bumper up. Not sure how anyone can miss the pre-marked holes. They are total morons. I'm glad I got lucky and prevented them from installing the front plate!

My dealer said if the factory does not install it then they will not install it either. But I am nervous they will forget and do it anyway. I literally want zero dealer prep no front plate, no dealer stickers, no plastic taken off the seats, not even a wash. I guess I better just remind them once the truck is shipped.
