Documentation Fees at your dealer?

I ordered from Dick Masheter Ford, in Columbus, OH.

They required a $500 deposit.

My partner is a loan QC agent, and she says "dealer fees" are 10-percent, with a cap of $250.00 in Ohio.

Who knows what crap dealers can skate-by with adding to the order.

I did not, however, see any extra fees on my Maverick order sheet.

Little late to the game here but a couple of weeks ago when I went down to the dealer to sign the paper work the Doc fee was $303. That seemed pretty fair to me. Last year when we bought a 2014 GMC Acadia from the Acura dealer they charged us around $500.

Could some of you guys furnish your dealer’s fixed “documentation fee”? These fixed fees seem to be going up with every car purchase I have made. They used to be around $399 - $499 in my area. My local Ford dealer is now at $799. What are you seeing at your local dealership?

Doc fees on the last 4 new vehicles I purchased starting in 2014 were:
2014 Nissan Frontier-$141.
2017 Mercedes AMG CLA45-$138.
2019 Mercedes AMG C43-$131.
2019 Corvette Stingray-$145.
