I have a hybrid so I wasn’t able to set the ABS code
Wow, that's a pretty massive reduction is fuel efficiency. Is it only happening when cruise is enabled, or all the time?

Not to my knowledge, but don't let that stop you, it seems to work 100% correctly without it.

And, I am confident we will get that worked out soon.
I have requested support from FORScan. I'll post here if/when I get anything back.

So, my XL hybrid has this (but looks like a truck rather than SUV) when going downhill, and it keeps the speed under control.

How is this function different than the function you are trying to enable?

Do you have to push a button to turn it on?

No, it comes whenever it detects a downslope.
are you sure that's hill descent control or showing you that it's going into regen mode on a downhill. I recently drove a hybrid for a day and it seemed like the green light was coming on when going downhill and also charging the battery.

I don’t have CP360 and it comes on going downhill
I've seen it on my hybrid as well. As far as I can tell it just shows re-gen is occurring, which is also displayed in the power meter, so I don't know why it's there. I can't find anything in the owner's manual about it.

I likewise cannot find it in the manual. It does charge the battery, and it does hold the speed reasonably close to where you put it with the accelerator and the brake.

To answer @FakeCowboy , I know nothing ...

That I believe is hill assist. What it is supposed to do according the owners manual is when you are on an incline lets say parked and put it into drive it will hold the brakes for a few seconds so the vehicle doesn't roll into whatever is downhill from it.

If it is hill assist there is a forscan code for it that should show if it is enabled or not. Far as I know it doesn't require any extra hardware than what is already installed on the lowest trim and option levels.

The aim of this thread to collect all the information here.
https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...-with-forscan-and-escape-steering-wheel.7287/

Big thanks to @Tyvemattis for first figuring this out.

The steps are as follows first you will need either a steering wheel with the LH cruise control switch paired with the correct RH steering wheel switch. the following steering wheels will work.
2020 - 2023 Escape
2020 - 2023 Explorer
2021 - 2023 Bronco Sport

edit
@Mas280 has confirmed a 2020 or newer Ford Transit steering wheel is the same as a Maverick.

or any 2022 Maverick steering wheel on the higher level trims XLT and Lariat that have the switches.

If you want to keep your existing steering wheel then the part numbers for the switches to replace the stock XL switches are
LH Switch
part# SW8576

RH Switch
part# SW8579

Next post is about the actually disassembly and assembly of the steering wheel.
I ordered both switches from FordParts.com last night and it looks like the rh switch (SW8579) is backordered and when I called, there is no estimated time of when it will be available. Does anyone know if there is an OEM switch available from another source? One switch without the other obviously will not do me any good. I do have a line on an Escape steering wheel, but it's $300.00. I'm wondering if Ford isn't getting wind of what is going on and is trying to put a stop to it by not selling both switches. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.

More likely the stock is being depleted. That switch should be available elsewhere just need to cross reference the part number. It is not like it a 2022 Maverick only item. They were making these pre pandemic and supply chain problems. You could also try some dealers within driving range and check with their parts departments and see if they have the switch.
