I was unloading several 5 gallon buckets of paint from the bed of my 2024 Maverick at a rent house I’m working on today. I had taken the key out of the ignition and shut the door, being careful not to lock the door, since I left the key in the console next to my phone. About halfway through unloading the paint I heard the door lock. It was a long 2 mile walk to home, where my other stupid keyfob was. Fortunately about 1/2 mile into the walk home someone I knew stopped to see if I needed a ride.
I’d sure like to know a way to shut off this “feature”.
Mark,
There isn't anything to disable/shutoff because Auto locking is not a feature. A glitch MAYBE Members here have looked with ForScan. There isn't any coding for AutoLock.
. Unfortunately until Ford can replicate it in their service department or someone can video it happening. It remains UNVERIFIED THUS UNFIXABLE.
So much so forward issued this SSM bulletin.

The 2025 Maverick lariats will not automatically lock their doors after 75 minutes or 24 hours.

I solved this problem by having a keyless entry door keypad installed by my dealer. Unfortunately, when I added a third keyfob, something happened to cause the keypad to quit working. When I enter the code (set by the factory) a red light flashes on the keypad, and the door doesn’t unlock. Is there any way I can fix this issue myself, or do I need to take it to the dealership 3 hours away?

Sounds like the 3rd key fob replaced the keypad. There can be a max number of remote keys installed. Go into menu and see what keys are active. Perhaps your current key fob was added to a lost or damaged additional fob. You can get the vehicles permanent key code from the dash using two admin key fob or it's printed on the tag on the bcm visible with a little difficulty with the front passenger door open. Search for keypad coding procedure which uses the 2 button, the permanent vehicle key code and the personal code you want to use.

If you're a '23 (or '22), just memorize the keypad code, or set a personal code, should you accidentally lock the doors with the keys inside the truck.

My Lariat has never lock unintended, and 99.9% of the time I have the key in my pocket, unless I'm washing & waxing the truck. - Even the water spray will lock/unlock if you're standing within range with the remote, and use the keypad to unlock the truck for the inside, leaving the key in the house.

I have the factory keypad code memorized. The problem is that the keypad doesn’t recognize the code.

Well - OP was bad description.

He actually wanted auto-unlock enabled for the back doors when he stopped, and opened drivers door.

But sure easy to tell for some of the other comments - indeed that user error, and still bad description, was likely it.

Except buckets in the bed post - that makes me wonder if auto-unlock was enabled, and all the doors did indeed lock.
That would have to be a glitch unless it was Lux XLT with keyless entry, and it did something after the 75 min.

I’m the “buckets in the bed” poster. My truck is an XL. I think my original issue was some sort of a glitch.

Addition of 3rd fob must have been when something happened. Go into settings and see what devises/fobs are active. (Perhaps the keypad needed to be button touched during the procedure but I believe that procedure was changed around 2017-2019).
Is the keypad "factory" code you are using on keypad the same as the truck 5 digit truck code shown on the BCM? If not perhaps setting a new user code using the BCM KEY CODE and your preferred code would work. The truck can have a max of 4 fobs. Not sure but think the keypad is NOT one of the four.

Thanks guys! I have a total of 3 fobs and the touch pad on the door. The touch pad is less than a year old and hasn’t been used very often. It also worked until the 3rd key fob was added, so I suspect the touch pad battery isn’t the problem.

Also, I don’t think “anti scan mode” is the issue. After entering the factory code it flashes a red dot in the upper right corner of the touch pad. Even after not being tried for several hours. I’ve unlocked the truck using the key too, without experiencing any improvement.

The truck doesn’t seem to have any evidence of battery issues, it’s less than 2 years old and has around 10k miles on it. I don’t think the truck is in battery save mode, I’ve been driving it daily for the last week (I’m on a 1500 mile trip in it).
I guess I will just take it to the dealership that installed the touch pad in February of this year and see if they can figure out how to fix it.
