Can you help me understand the door locking & unlocking on a 2025 Lariat. My son and I went to a movie and after parking I couldn’t find my keys but knew they were in the truck. I tried locking it from the inside door switch and also the Adoor handle but neither locked it. It did beep twice I guess telling me my keys were inside.

Since we were running late we decided to go on in. I thought I remembered reading it would lock itself after 10 minutes but after getting inside the theater I realized that it never locked it setting in the garage with the keys in it. Then remembered I had the FordPass app so was able to lock it that way. Was a little disappointed the app didn’t show the state of lock & unlock in this day & age.

So is the only way you can lock the Maverick with the keys inside is by using the FordPass app? Or should you be able to lock it using the inside door switch or the outside door handle?

Also is there a setting I’m not seeing where your doors will unlock whenever you put it park? My mom’s 2015 Explorer worked like this.

Sit in car.
Door lock all button after others have gotten out.
Open your door.
Push your individual door lock lever right above handle.
Close door.
Keys locked in car.

Do the lock lever accidentally - and you can complain the truck is locking itself!

I also thought a couple posters had tested the whole auto-lock after a time on 25MY, and it did it with fob in truck, not outside truck. Like a failsafe to not leaving keys in car unlocked for easy theft.
Perhaps test purposely - an OTA update may have changed it after people getting upset about truck in garage getting locked automatically, because fob left in it.

The setting available for auto-unlock all - is when driver's door opens, not on Park.

Thank you I will put your post in my Notes for reference.

I never paid any attention to that door lever you mentioned glad to know that.

Not that I will intentionally leave my keys inside (like I just did) good to know how the locks work. Should you actually want to lock the keys inside, you can by using the door lock lever or by using the app.

By any chance do you have the keyless entry keypad on your driver door? If so, you can use that to lock the keys inside too. But remember the code, lol!

I think the lock criteria changes depending on if you have keyed or push button start.
I can lock my keys in the truck - no issue. Since the pushbutton looks for a signal from the FOB that might not work the same.

Correct - OP has 25 Lariat - so keyless entry.

Non-keyless entry the only way it knows you have the fob in cabin - is when it's in the ignition.
So very easy to lock up with fob in cabin.
