Debating maverick haters is exhausting

I've never had to argue about my Maverick. Most people are genuinely interested in it. Find friends who treat vehicles has tools and don't have a devotion to a specific multi-billion dollar corporation.

I’ve had the opposite experience, everyone loves the Maverick when I tell them about it.

most recently I had an older guy in an old lifted dodge ram who loved my Maverick.

In the end it doesn't matter what you have, drive, like.
There will always be those who dislike it.
Does it fit your needs? Mine fits my requirements well. Only complaint is that the fuel range is longer than my old bones like to sit. With the Escape we needed fuel about the same time the legs needed stretching.. The Maverick is pushing that envelope. Still wouldn't trade it.

The only reason people will mess with you about it is that they know they can get a rise out of you.

I just say it's a car with a truck bed on it and gets 26mpg and agree with them when they say it's not a real truck. Who cares what people who are only trying to piss you off think?

It is focus built, and I bought it for that reason...645 miles per tank, decent luxury features for the price, low end torque on the hybrid... I have had mine for 15k miles and am thrilled. Best value ever. Not going to two a boat with it, but I didn't buy it to tow a boat...bought it to drive long miles with a full bed of crap, and it does that in a spectacular fashion.

I posted a thread about my Maverick on another forum. In the OP I put that it is an SUV with a bed on it to discourage the turds from jumping on it.

Mostly positive responses but I did get this one:
"these types of vehicles are not trucks, their SUVs with a birth defect."

My reply to him:

Tell em you bought the cheapest truck in America and ask them if they want to race. Good bet that you will win unless they have something special like a Raptor, SRT, SS, Lightning, TRX, Cyclone, or something over $60,000. Then you can show em that your full throttle race still got close to 20mpg, while racing! They probably got 12 at full throttle.

If they pull out the tow card, just tell em thats why you let your friends like them spend all their money on a DD tow vehicle so you can borrow it once every 2 years!

I used to call mine that, even my registration states SUV for vehicles type, but people in this forum frowned on that, so, I stopped....
