I don’t get a lot of hate, and it isn’t because I don’t have mine yet. I have a coworker that has a MY23 XL Hybrid, and me and other coworkers think it is great. He let me test drive it and I thought it was plenty powerful, has a big enough bed to handle my 2 acres and with 4K towing it should tow my 3200lb travel trailer just fine.
I’m sure there are people that will dog it when I get it, but I have no problem telling people my opinion.
When I was rear ended on Dec. 23rd by a guy doing about 30 mph, my 2022 XLT withstood the impact with no one (3 passengers) being injured. The truck was totaled because he rammed me into a Suburban.
I am now driving my 2024 XLT 2.0 and feel safe in my (toy truck). lol

Been remodeling my kitchen. So happy I have this truck. Saves on delivery charges. Picked up all my appliances, cabinets, flooring and more.

I've received nothing but compliments so far. A lot of people are fervent believers in their brand or genre. Think about how many times you've seen a window sticker with Calvin peeing on <insert brand here>. Over in the Bronco Sport forums, they are worrying that the Big Bronco owners are looking down on them and saying that the BS isn't a real Bronco. It's not something to worry with. I'm working on performance upgrades and will be happy to race most of those guys.

When I first got my mav, my wife was driving it and said that some guy in a huge dodge ram pickup was looking over and smirking at her. It kind of upset her until I asked "what was he hauling in the bed"? The bed was empty. Then she laughed.

They can't argue when I tell them I filled up for 45$ and get 600miles before next fill up. But yes, plenty of "its going to blow up".. "it's not a truck"..."you should get a real truck" "ford sucks"
Ugh really? It amazes me that people say these kinds of things….that they actually feel entitled to tell other grown adults what to do.

Wow. Come to think of it, I bet there are a lot of big empty bedders out there…

Oddly enough, in my two years of ownership and countless interactions, the only negativity towards the Maverick I've been witness to...has been in this forum. 😉

It's almost a rule of thumb - the bigger the pickup, the more likely it is that the bed will be empty.

A lot of those people buy them as luxury vehicles that can be used for utility purposes, but never actually use them for work or utility. Tradesmen that need and use a pickup for work every day? Buy what you need. I think it's funny that people blow $90k in a dick waving contest that only exists in their heads.

All this talk about chassis platform. The truck is not a truck. LOL The Empire State Building was built on the smaller Chrysler building platform. With out outside interference both still stand today and provide a service. The next time somebody tries to shame you for having a smaller truck and it can only do so much ask them what endorsements they have on their commercial drivers license. And if they don't have one tell them that stepping into there truck for me is like driving a tricycle. 😊

I don't care for the most part but if you drive something that looks like this I will judge your character harshly

What it is for me is how the driver acts. If I see a bro dozer as we call them, but they're driving respectfully, I'm like "Good on you". But if they're riding someone's ass, and rolling coal every five seconds, it's like "Oh so you're actively trying to be an asshole and embrace all the stereotypes".

Same goes for luxury cars, performance vehicles, everything.

Reality is reality and I watch every vehicle. Some folks are looking to run Maverick right off the road. And I've certainly been coal rolled.

Nothing verbal, but I expect occasional and significant aggression from random "truck" drivers. There have been rural road rage incidents recently in my area that ended in murder. Not going to participate in that. I'll just move off the road when they cut me off.

I purchased a Maverick over a Ranger for 1 reason. Gas mileage. I purchased a Bronco Sport over a big Bronco for 1 reason. Gas mileage. Even though I can easily afford a bigger gas guzzling vehicle, I choose not to. I only buy what I need and not to impress anyone.

We are definitely in the minority in Wyoming in our Mavericks.

The biggest truck wins, here. Not sure what they win, though.

Most here are empty beds, too, but hey...they *could* haul 1500 lbs, just like our Mavericks.

I have the satisfaction of filling up my Maverick for $30...and driving 500+ miles. A little less mileage when I'm hauling 1,000 lbs of cement blocks from Menards. To each his own. I haven't experienced any hate, but we do have a lot of "coal-rollers" here.
