Thanks for response. I was considering comet. But wondered if it was too abrasive. You settled that issue for me.
It is not advised to use comet Or bon ami on windshields

@scotty I hope I am not too late to the forum in which I just wanted to give my $0.02 if you do replace the wiper blade. Please watch youtube videos or there may be some posts on here showing how to correctly get the wiper arms up to replace the blades without chipping/damaging the hood.
I just randomly found a YT video quick to post on here (currently at work and dont have a bunch of free time). May not be the best instructions, but just wanted to make sure you dont end up chipping the paint as its not as simple as other vehicles may be.

Good post! Some forum members have put felt on the bottom of the wiper arm just in case it rubs on the hood at any time. Accidents happen.

Bought mine used it had signs of someone not being gentle in that area. Something I missed initially during inspection as I've never seen a hood and wiper area come in contact this way before, but I know to check now! Anyways, I put some of THIS around the edge of the hood to protect it as it was already scratched and chipped. Not the solution I wanted to use. I would have much prefered just lining the bottom of the wiper arms with some kind of padding, but it covers up the scuffs and does it's job. I did have to seal the areas with a touch up pen before I put it on.

Ford Maverick Dealer said wipers are only good for 6 months. Hood 002

I have run PIAA Si-Tech wiper blades for a while now (over 5 years and still in use). I won’t hesitate to put them on our ‘23 Mav as soon as they are due. PIAA’s are pricy but well worth it. The PIAA’s also come with a bonus glass treatment product similar to RainX repellent, but seems to last longer than RainX (which I otherwise love too). Each wiper comes with its own individual moist towelette (meaning you get 2). If I apply it quickly and in the shade, I can get two applications—one from each PIAA wiper’s applicator towelette, do I save one for later use. The applicator otherwise dries up fast. Easy application; wipe on, wipe off. I can also typically get the windshield, PLUS side mirrors and both front door glass done with each application.

A bit of a side note, but I applied a glass ceramic coating to our Maverick windshield and front door glass. It’s a bit more involved than applying RainX or PIAA’s version. The ceramic is still going strong 7 months after application. We don’t have southern Florida sun, but we do have Minnesota winters and road salt. Application of the ceramic involves an initial polishing step, which is why I mention this. If you were concerned about film or contaminants built up on your windshield and contributing to the problem, I would recommend a proper glass polish.

23 ford maverick, live in s. Florida, 2400 miles on truck. Had truck 6 mts.
Rubber on windshield wipers is soft, pliable, nor discolored, or any rubber deterioration.

Only drove in the rain once since having the truck. It rained about a week ago and thats when the vibration of wipers began.

When wipers are turned on without water on window there is no vibration (I did this for a quick test).

After running wipers with water on the windows the vibration of the wiper blade rubber begins to vibrating up and down and losing contact with window surface.

I called Ford auto nation, margate, fl. Told them my experience and asked for help. He said wipers in South Florida are only good for 6 mths. Where did that data come from?

Dealer said if you bring it in, then I would be charged for evaluation even though it could be something other then wiper material.

So, did someone reading this have this experience? What manufacturer and model of wiper specifically did you buy that solved issue I am having? Did wiper last more then 6 mths.? Thank you reading this.

I never had this issue with cars i have been driving. I am now 70 years old.

Products are made cheaper now and they want you to buy new ones. The weather has an impact on how long your wiper blades last. If you keep your vehicle parked in your garage or out of direct sunlight they will last longer. If you buy better quality replacements they should last longer than the cheapest ones.

By vibrating, do you mean chattering across the glass? As someone else pointed out, try cleaning the windshield a couple of times. Rubbing alcohol does a good job but don't get it on the paint.

Also clean the edge of the wiper blade that contacts the glass. I know that due to the design you can't flip the wiper arms up as on most other vehicles so don't force anything.

If none of that works, my guess is maybe the spring in the arm is weak or not right and maybe the entire arm should be replaced? Ask the dealer to try that. Also try another dealer.

Thank you response. But did you have the same problem I described and how did you solve it if you did have same problem? My other two cars sitting right beside maverick has wipers lasting 3 years so far and their perfect. My maverick has perfect soft, pliable wipers.

If I go buy new blades and the same problem exists, then what direction would you take.

I don't believe anyone is expected to buy new blades every 6 months. How long has your factory blades lasted?
No, I haven't had your exact problem. My factory blades lasted 18 months. They were streaking badly, that's why I replaced them.

If I were you, I would buy new blades. OEM or aftermarket, up to you. If replacement blades are acting the same way, then something else is causing the issue (arms or motor). If new blades solve your problem, then it was the fault of the blades.

Also, keep in mind, not all dealers are alike. Feel free to contact a different Ford dealer in the area for your service and warranty work.

Good wipers will last a year under normal usage. In South Florida, the salty air might be drying out the rubber more quickly.

I personally clean the windshield before pulling out of the driveway each time. Could be that regular spray of cleaner is enough to keep the blades from dry rotting as quickly.
My hybrid has 28k miles in 27 months. Original factory wipers. Am on my 5th or 6th gallon of wiper fluid (maybe more if dealer tops it off during "the works oil changes?"). I wash dust off most times before and when a bug splatter happens before it drys during driving. (I use best grade of rainx,), Never notice wiper "chatter". Next "the works" oil change I will ask for new wiper blades as current ones are now slightly "streaking". Current problem is deciding which coupon to use with dealer tire purchase, the $70 cash discount or additional bonus Ford pass points OR the free alignment with tire purchase. (Cannot stack the coupons, dang)

Not sure what "chattering" means, other then a sound made from tapping teeth up and down.

No that is not the sound. It's more of the look of the wiper blade movement.
It's not staying on the window surface. It bounces up and down as it moves.

Yes I have washed it twice now. but will give the window and blades another cleaning.

Yes I wlll not contact another dealer if not remedying by me soon

Usually get email of "specials". But some are available online including a 10% for scheduling appointment online instead of calling on phone. (Suspect I could get the discount if called in and said "am having trouble with doing online"). I remember getting email for wiper inserts for super price but don't remember what it was. It never hurts to ask.

2 years and counting on my original wipers. Working perfectly. Every few months I just wipe the bugs off with an abrasive kitchen sponge.

My 2 cents....I was the Factory rep for Honda 15+ years and now I teach Automotive Technology at our local Community College. Wiper blades were considered a wear item and not covered by warranty. What you are describing is what we called wiper chattering. As mentioned before in several posts, cleaning the windshield with a non-abrasive cleaner should fix your issue.

Also, I add 4-oz of ammonia to my windshield homemade washer fluid when it needs filling which helps reduce film on the glass and remove bugs. Too much ammonia will eat away at the rubber parts of the of the windshield so it little goes along way.

Note: I have used this recipe for 25 years with no issues-blades or washer system. (total recipe: 1 gallon distilled water, 3-4 drops of dawn and 4 oz of ammonia. I also add 4 oz isopropyl alcohol in the winter to prevent the fluid from freezing on the glass)
