Daniels latest transmission update. Sounds like he's got an incompetent dealer after hearing they replaced computer/modules with no fix.

Didn't watch the vid. Is his truck a Hybrid or Ecoboost?Daniels latest transmission update. Sounds like he's got an incompetent dealer after hearing they replaced computer/modules with no fix.
Probably. I run the severe environment maintenance schedule. I live in the mountains and tow often. I'd recommend getting the factory fluid out of the transmission and then doing 50k.Saw his first video about the issue. So im planning transmission oil changes at 50k. Should be good? Dont have awd so dont have to worry about the other stuff
Ecoboost. 8F35 transmission.Didn't watch the vid. Is his truck a Hybrid or Ecoboost?
Ecoboost. It's an FX4 and no orange cables under the hood.Didn't watch the vid. Is his truck a Hybrid or Ecoboost?
FWIW= In one of John Kelly's videos he mentioned that the life of the HF35 fluid is pretty much a function of the operating temperatures. (50K Miles or 5years???) In high temp areas particularly heavy loads etc. The fluid would lose its protective additives and the protective coating on the electric motors coils would get hot and would be subject to melting. It was mentioned by someone with him that in the Bahamas the mechanics were recommending annual fluid changes. Monitoring transaxle is one reason I would want a scan gage..Hybrid is basically "maintenance free" unless you submerge it, or use it in extreme heavy duty conditions.
It will be maintenance free for many users.
The 2005 eCVT was labeled as "sealed" and not user serviceable. Never touched mine in 14 years and 235,000 miles. Zero issues.
I guess they don't quite make that claim for the Maverick. I think the first service is at 150,000 miles, but so far in the future, I didn't commit it to memory.
Thanks.Ecoboost. 8F35 transmission.
He always said he was hard on it to see what it would do. Can't fault him for showing everyone it's limits. The only problem with this transmission was the driver.

When I had my Subaru in for a CVT flush at 75k they told me I didn't need. I said, I follow the severe/heavy duty use schedule - "you don't drive it that way" - doesn't matter.Probably. Except you can, because it's clickbait. The initial video he stated "It's funny I did a review calling it reliable and then something goes wrong". Then he drives it in the video to show the shifting problems and all the evidence in previous videos shows us the likely issue is him being hard on it.He always said he was hard on it to see what it would do. Can't fault him for showing everyone it's limits.
