Also my owners manual says 280lbft :ROFLMAO:

I mean take 3 horses tie em together and piss em off, see what happens.

As for the transmission, if you go back through the years and look at transmissions. They put weak parts in strong cases and strong parts in weak cases, and everything in between. They do it based on what is needed in that vehicle, at that time, with that engine. Just take a for C4 auto, stock any year is good to about 300hp or so, but change up some parts andhave it assembled per spec and its rated for 900hp! I suspect the transmission differs internally slightly from other models its used in and they just dont have the time to rate the capability of every iteration of the case.
Absolutely - the specs I rattled off were from introduction in 2021 and not unfathomable that the transmission was revised or beefed up for use in the Maverick even though the output from the 2.0 EB hasn't changed.

Or maybe Ford realized after publication they needed to up the rating to pair it effectively with the 2.0EB.

I'm not worried. I'm running 93 and am likely to throw the Cobb 93 tune on it. You could have it paired to a 2.7 EB and it would do fine if driven properly and not hooning it all over the place.

Yep just keep it cool and don't spring a leak and it will do fine.

Hey everyone, I dont think this has been posted yet, but if not and this isnt the right area to post this, please move it to where it needs to go. Otherwise I hope that his 80k miles with tranny issues are a fluke and not something that will be happening to all of us.

Maybe yanking a huge Ford out of the ditch with a pull strap in ice at 70K was the reason he started having problems at 70K ???? No telling what he did OFF Camera ....... ID say this is self inflicted.

Look at 20:02

I concur...

Folks bagging on this guy like Ford isn't the most recalled manufacturer multiple years in a row and isn't the company behind the PowerShit transmissions. The lawyers literally presented internal emails in court of engineers saying the transmissions were not at all usable BEFORE mass production even started.

Please...

I cant believe what I started...haha. I just posted a video of a known Maverick owner who puts a lot of miles on his vehicle and the fact he has transmission issues. But unlike most of us, there are not that many super high mileage Mavs around currently. So I just wanted to share this in hopes that this isn't going to be an issue down the road.

I was not trying to say he abuses his vehicle, or doesn't get it serviced or anything like that... just a "hey a Mav owner with tranny issues".... heads up.

No worries. His videos provide plenty of evidence to the likey causes. Thanks for sharing.

Yup he has tranny issues. Wonder if he abused the Mav using it to yank F250's out of the snow ??? Couldnt have been good for it.

I wasn't bagging on Daniel, I was stating what he had said in the video, that he had not preformed a trans service yet at 80k miles. Also as others have pointed out there is blatant evidence that he his harder on his truck then 90% of us here will be. Its apparent he loves his Mav but he is definitely tough on it. I also enjoy watching his videos, so definitely not hating on him and I hope he gets this taken care of, I don't think there is any way Ford is paying for it though.
Personally I was told my Supra only needed an oil change once a year or every 10k miles, there is no way in hell that I was waiting that long, so I've been doing them every 3-5 months or 3-5k pending on how much I am driving it.
As the old adage goes an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. So I try and do my services on my vehicles before it becomes a problem.
Not to say him not doing the trans service is what has caused the issue, there may be other factors, like him towing an F250 in deep snow, I cant see how that was good on the Mav at all.
At the end of the day I don't know what's going on with his truck exactly and wont until he does an update video after taking it into ford. I have just been putting my two cents in.
As for the OPs question of if we think this will be a common issue, I don't think this will be a common issue for most of us here as again he is putting his truck through the wringer, he has 80k (hard) miles in a year of ownership lol, again in the 3 years I've had my Supra I've just barely hit 18k, so I'm not worried.

Common sense applies here. Check the tranny oil at regular intervals like every 30k, if it is nice and bright red leave it alone, if it is turn brown and/or smells burnt change it. This takes all of 5 minutes to do.
I remember years ago working for a dealer if we didn't have a record of changing your transmission fluid on a vehicle over 50k we wouldn't do it. Why because almost every vehicle we did the transmission didn't last a week and some wouldn't come off the lift after changing the fluid...

It's actually an F350 and it's at least 8k easy lol.

I won't pretend to like his content, but I agree overall. It could also be an issue with the PTU. We don't know but it's likely not "common" and even if he had serviced it as needed, the evidence of abuse is well documented. I particularly enjoyed the one where he edited him hitting a barbed wire fence out but left the Tacoma pulling him out in there, and then immediately follows up with a full send through snow with wheels at full turn the entire time and hits a small tree.

Sorry, not sorry. This is what inexperience does and I'm not praising him for being an uploader. It's not warranted at all. He posted a video of himself pulling a 3800 pound camper (I looked up specs) and guessed it was 3400-3500 but in another video said it was "probably" closer to 3800 pounds. The specs for his trailer are 3800 without any personal items loaded... Which means he never bothered to weigh anything. Yes, it's 4k... but pushing the limits and not actually weighing it has obvious negative repercussions. He's admitted to never changing fluids that should have been changed following extreme service intervals. He's never done any research.

He should have posted here. Maybe his Maverick would still be running if he did. Being "first" or posting random videos means very little when this is the outcome. Gotta look at the bigger picture here folks.

He didn't say if he's done all the PM or not so I'm not going to assume anything. I agree with another post and he should look at the ATF and smell it to see if it smells burnt. No mention of rattles or other noises so it could also be software. I'm glad he's going to have it looked at because if it is a minor problem it could become major by driving it. I'd like to hear the results of taking for service.

My Honda CRV did this at 60k change the transmission fluid and gone! And yeah, the m&ms…wonder if the CVT on the hybrid has issues?
