Daniels latest transmission update. Sounds like he's got an incompetent dealer after hearing they replaced computer/modules with no fix.

Service your transmission people!

Saw his first video about the issue. So im planning transmission oil changes at 50k. Should be good? Dont have awd so dont have to worry about the other stuff

Didn't watch the vid. Is his truck a Hybrid or Ecoboost?

Hybrid is basically "maintenance free" unless you submerge it, or use it in extreme heavy duty conditions.

It will be maintenance free for many users.

The 2005 eCVT was labeled as "sealed" and not user serviceable. Never touched mine in 14 years and 235,000 miles. Zero issues.

I guess they don't quite make that claim for the Maverick. I think the first service is at 150,000 miles, but so far in the future, I didn't commit it to memory.

Probably. I run the severe environment maintenance schedule. I live in the mountains and tow often. I'd recommend getting the factory fluid out of the transmission and then doing 50k.

FWIW= In one of John Kelly's videos he mentioned that the life of the HF35 fluid is pretty much a function of the operating temperatures. (50K Miles or 5years???) In high temp areas particularly heavy loads etc. The fluid would lose its protective additives and the protective coating on the electric motors coils would get hot and would be subject to melting. It was mentioned by someone with him that in the Bahamas the mechanics were recommending annual fluid changes. Monitoring transaxle is one reason I would want a scan gage..

Ecoboost has 8 speed automatic.
Hybrid has eCVT.

What are their nomenclatures?

The only problem with this transmission was the driver.
He always said he was hard on it to see what it would do. Can't fault him for showing everyone it's limits.

🤔 My "maintenance free" 2005 eCVT spent 8 years in Colorado, 1 year in Minnesota, 5 years in Bay Area California. 14 years. 235,000+ miles. Was running great when someone rear-ended it, crumpling a zone that contained the HV. Battery. Everything and everybody was safe. As a rear-end no air bags deployed and the engine compartment was fine. As it happened on a 3 lane bridge in rush hour, the cops were pissed I wasn't driving it away. They couldn't grasp I couldn't drive away on engine alone without the HV pack, (which basically Tripped safety switches and was a little deformed).

Otherwise I'd be north of 300,000 miles at this point.

When I had my Subaru in for a CVT flush at 75k they told me I didn't need. I said, I follow the severe/heavy duty use schedule - "you don't drive it that way" - doesn't matter.

Except you can, because it's clickbait. The initial video he stated "It's funny I did a review calling it reliable and then something goes wrong". Then he drives it in the video to show the shifting problems and all the evidence in previous videos shows us the likely issue is him being hard on it.

His titles should be "I screwed up my transmission". We know it's limits. It's not a trophy truck. And now it's "FORD can't fix my Maverick"...

This aint a FORD Maverick thing. This is an idiot driver thing. There is hard use and stupid use. This driver is stupid.

I have no problem defending those who need defending. And if it was you, as you've made it clear multiple times that "it's a truck and I treat it like so" essentially (I mean no offense either btw), then I'm sure if something was to happen we'd get something more truthful along the lines of "I broke my Maverick" and not the blaming the transmission/FORD like this kid.
