Ford does not use the same transmission as Nissan. I read somewhere that the latest eCVT is built in house.

The eCVT in the Maverick is the H45-E designed and built by Ford at the Van D_yke Transmission plant in Michigan. It is based on a design that has been built and proven in Fords for a decade.

The first two generations of Ford eCVT were manufactured by Aisin, a Toyota subsidiary, before Ford started manufacturing them internally.

I think the only band CVTs Ford has used in the US (Five Hundred, Freestyle) were ZF units?

They gave it the wrong name when they invented ecvt.

You and I keep posting this video, but the concern keeps rearing its head. Too bad this forum doesn't have "stickies" at the top with frequently asked questions.

They gave it the wrong name when they invented ecvt.

They should use the PowerSplit name that the chief engineer uses in the interview videos.

As others have mentioned, supposedly new e-motor being assembled at Van Dyke plant:

OP, where did your info come from?

Where does this misinformation keep coming from?! Many, many places have called B.S. on it.

The HF45 (and HF35) are made by FoMoCo. Older gen eCVTs were made by Aisin. Jatco was never involved.

It's been said before but the eCVT in Ford and Toyota hybrids is completely unrelated to conventional CVTs.

As it has been posted numerous times, the Maverick does NOT have a cvt transmission. It has an ECVT trans. Huge difference.
