It may have been posted several times but since I’m new here I wouldn’t know. The problem is the review sites refer to the “continuously variable transmission”. See the Consumer Reports review. https://www.consumerreports.org/pickup-trucks/2022-ford-maverick-review-a1068008639/.
other reviews make the same reference. I can easily provide several more examples. Us newbies have no way to know and to be honest, I have never heard of eCVT. Sorry to be learning at your expense

Holup you just offered an article from 2004, but I'm not sure what point it's making. Both the these articles are talking about belt and chain driven CVT's which is not what the Ford Hybrid eCVT is.
My point is that ItStillRuns article is so incorrect it doesn't even have the manufacturer of the belt CVTs that Ford did use correct. Like it also says Jatco is Toyota owned; Toyota has their own division (Aisin) which also produced the Ford eCVTs in their hybrids before Ford started making them themselves.
