Got some pictures. Please keep in mind that a) this is a prototype, b) this is the first PETG thing our printer has made, and c) we got a new print head specifically to address some of the finish issues you'll see.
Looking good so far - PETG takes a while to get dialed in.

I've been working on some enhancements / tweaks to existing designs to suit them to my purposes and recently added a few custom ones (FITS slot for the cubby, HAM Radio stand). I'm currently working on a semi-generic phone holder for my work phone and some on the door FITS slots for holding a flashlight, glass breaker, etc.

If you've got any ideas, please share and I will take a crack at them!

Can you make a 17mm ball male fits to go into the cubby female fits, for a Garmin GPS? I'll buy it if you can.

I finally got some time to tinker. Instead of increasing the height as previously considered, I hacked the ass out of my previous print to conform with the pointless taper in the back.

Low and behold, it now fits perfectly, like a glove.

Just need to hack it out of the file, move the holding tab one mm, and reprint and it should be perfect.

As an aside, has anyone mapped the entire interior of the cubby out? Trying to make a little coin tray and I am quickly finding out the guy who specced out the cubby was a real prick.
Check out R3DCustoms.com they have some cool stuff

Couple comments.
1. thanks for putting these together, it looks fun to experiment.
2. My public library has 3D printers and they charge per the gram. You send them the STL file and they'll print it. 15cents per gram. Any guess on how many grams the your grid system is?

Etsy has a few listings for FITS stuff too. There is a cool cubby bucket I’ve been looking at ($37 though)

that's why I want to try my library. There are lots on etsy, some as high as $65. But I have no idea how many grams one of these prints weighs. I've never printed anything.

I guess I can go backwards and figure out what my breakeven is at $37. $37/$.15 = 247 grams which is roughly 1/2 a pound. No way one of these prints weighs half a pound.

So library printing could be a fun experiment and be cheaper.

I think you're missing a decimal place on that cost per gram. $150 per kg of PETG would be robbery. Material costs are probably only a few bucks, but these vendors mark it up 20x for the privilege of design and machine time.

I don't have a printer and I don't want to buy one. For the 1-2 things I wanted printed, the library will likely still be cheaper than buying off etsy.

I'm just quoting the library page :) I can have the library print it for 15 cents a gram. (sounds like a drug deal when I quote prices in grams)

Hi guys, thought I'd chime in as a seller. Theses take about 3 hours of print time, an hour of post work, and then the time it takes to package and ship. Aside from that i print from asa which runs about 40/kg - my total cost with etsy fees and average labels is somewhere between 25-30. The modules i don't make anything on. they cost 45, need 8$ in wiring and terminal connectors and then i have a little work in soldering the conductors.

The trash cans i sell are about the same story - i make about 20$ per.

But i am one seller, I do not speak for all of them. I am trying to move away from etsy with akrodesigns.com because they take 15-30% depending on if someone clicked an ad - but the do help a lot with reaching customers.
