Crappy entertainment system .

My 24 2.0 had the recall on the camera but the screen keeps going blank. I have to pull over and completely shut the truck down then start again. Happens weekly. Im about to hire a Lemon Law attorney. I love the truck but this is so annoying. My dealer says there is nothing they can do. Suggestions?

The Sync 2.5/sync pro/sync whateveritscalled in the 22-24 XL/XLT is a cheap cut down version of Sync that has performance issues. Sadly there is no real permanent fix short of ripping it out and replacing it with the sync 3 system out of a lariat or the sync 4 system out of a newer truck. Some other users here have done so.

That doesn't mean it shouldn't work. Start the Lemon Law process, see if it doens't light a fire under them.

That's an interesting conundrum: States' lemon laws usually require 3(ish) failed attempts to repair. What happens if they don't even try like in OP's case?

It's not the fastest thing in the world, but going blank and requiring a restart of the entire truck isn't normal. Mine never does that.

22-24 XL-XLT came with Ford's Connected Touch Radio.
Lariats were equipped with sync 3
I'm not sure about 2025's

My early 22 FX4 I had a software updated and it was much better, still say it was the only problem with the truck synk 3 sucks, had to rest radio, power and seek right its like rebooting your phone.
Some guys were saying disconnect battery back in the day or turn vehicle off and let it sit for who knows how many min. Forget the lawyers they won't take the case over a radio unless you pay and wait few years. just reset, document when it happens if its that bad and speak to service manager, not adviser, next visit to dealer, be nice, maybe they will change the radio just to get rid of you. Sync 2.5 is a joke. Trying to get your phone to connect to the radio is laughable. Then you have to use your phone to get Sirius/XM off the cellular service. I live in the middle of the mountains and try to get a good signal off of cellular service, not that is a total joke. Ford is definitely doing the cheap part. I forgot the part where you have to wait until the radio decides to wake up and play after you start it.

They told me that since the recall chop was installed there was nothing Ford could do.

Not necessarily. While I cannot speak to the Maverick, I know my wife's Expedition infotainment wasn't working properly. I started and stopped the vehicle several times but it only really "restarted" and working correctly after I did the button push restart.

Change out the head unit entirely with aftermarket, if you don't want to pay the premium price for the Ford Sync upgrades. This unit has worked quite well for me and provides wireless Android Auto / Carplay also.

I replaced the 5 disc changer in my mirage with an android head amp off ali express for 250$ Canadian. it works awesome. Radio car play android auto all the music apps. people used to pull out factory radios all the time. I have the 2025 XL so they put the sync 4 in mine and it hasn't glitched out yet.
