Since my 2024 sale is on hold due to the backup camera recal, I’m considering two other options. Either a 2025 Maverick or a 2024 Bronco Sport. The question I have is are the 2024 Maverick’s and the 2024 Bronco Sports Entertainment Systems the same? If so are they having issues as well?

I don't know for sure but based on pictures they look pretty much the same. The MY24 bronco literature mentions the upgraded B&O system is "available" so I imagine it's like in the MY24 maverick, the upper trim levels like the lariat are where the upgraded radio is available. Hopefully someone with more knowledge can give more accurate information. The MY25 mavericks have been updated in all the trim levels from what I understand.

Bronco Sport has always had full Sync 3, and thus not affected by the camera recall. Connected Touch Radio such as on the XL/XLT is, for North America anyways, unique to the Maverick.

Why don’t they make compatable aftermarket head units anymore

I believe it's because dashboard designs have become more integrated.
Not allowing themselves to much customization. Plus electronics being tied together, using one's phone. Some vehicles don't have am anymore..
Along with other factors.
