Since you can only drive one Maverick at a time I would get rid of the 2023 when the 2024 arrives.
Did not know about this recall.did Ford officially notify you like the turn signal bulb recall? Or did you " find out" somewhere else.
From ford... you can google it..:( but only hybrids made during a small window...

Yes i have a Tremor too.. love it...but 21.4 mpg :(
Dave,

Don't panic, keep them both like I have on my channel. Use the hybrid for city mpg and the T for fun and adventures. Once you use the T for mostly hwy driving, the mpg will go up to mid to upper 20s. My Mav turbo AWD I show in my videos from Park City is a little beast in the snow, I have never been stopped at chain control even with last year's huge winter.

It costs about $10 more per tank to not have to get out in a miserable storm to install chains. Or to get you up the muddy dirt road to the campsite in summer. The extra $10 is only about the cost of lunch. And now that the hybrid costs +$1500, that equals 150 fill ups to break even on the hybrid upgrade cost.

Ask any questions.

I have a 2023 XLT hybrid lux package that has the recall with no solution about bad crankshafts that could cause the truck to burn up. I love my Mav's but here is the rub. I also have a 2024 Xl hybrid on order from rollover of a 23 order with hitch and co pilot only. This will come in the next month. I would love to keep both. but wonder if i shouldn't trade the 23 XLT in because of the recall. Any comments or opinions welcome... ? Thank You.
Keep them both. Hybrids will hold their value better than any other truck on the market and you’ve got a unique vehicle. You’ll probably get good money for it in four years as well if you like the vehicle, keep them. The recall will be fixed if needed.

So this is only for hybrids?
As i understand it it was just a few maverick hybrids that used the bad cranks... probably because of covid and delays someone found a skid with a bunch of cranks from the hybrid engine sitting around and said hey.. why don't we use these old ones from the 2020 excape recall..lol..

It isn't just 'a few bad crankshafts got out' but more general machining finishing quality/cleanup over a period of years.

There is NO recall on the Maverick about bad crankshafts

Ford Motor Company has issued a recall of over 150,000 vehicles due to a potential fire hazard. Affected models include the 2020-2023 Ford Escape, 2022-2023 Ford Maverick, and 2021-2023 Lincoln Corsair. Specifically, those equipped with 2.5L hybrid or plug-in hybrid engines are included in this recall. This is an expansion and replacement of a previous recall announced in July.

The recall stems from a defect that could lead to engine failure. In such a scenario, engine oil and fuel vapor could be released into the engine compartment. If these substances accumulate near ignition sources such as hot engine or exhaust components, it could potentially lead to an engine compartment fire.

The risk associated with this defect is significant as an engine compartment fire greatly increases the likelihood of injury. Therefore, if you own a 2020-2023 Ford Escape, 2022-2023 Ford Maverick, or a 2021-2023 Lincoln Corsair equipped with a 2.5L hybrid or plug-in hybrid engine, it’s crucial to check if your vehicle is included in this recall.

For those concerned, you can check the label on the side of your engine for the date code. 2 digit year, day of week A through F, week of year.
My Maverick has a code "21K05". Maybe the letter represents the month (K=October, assuming Ford doesn't use the letter "I") and the 05 is the day of the month? 2021/10/05 for a build date?

A big part of these "what should I do" threads that too often gets ignored is "what's your personality?". If you're not a worrier, probably keep it. But if something keeps you up at night and you can afford to get rid of it, then dump that source of concern and get a good night's sleep. Move on.

I wouldn't worry, Ford said they would be able to fully address this recall sometimes during the second quarter of this year I believe. As far as we know, there is yet to be a single case of a maverick actually catching on fire or having engine issues from this.

Again the RECALL is not for a "recall with no solution about bad crankshafts" as you stated.

You just made up the crankshafts issue out of thin air.
