First, I would not buy another vehicle without cruise, or a rigged cruise. I paid $23,720 + tax for an XLT, fully loaded...but had to drive 699 miles to pick it up. One reason I would not pay over MSRP is if it was stolen or wrecked, I would expect to only get MSRP used value. Paying way over MSRP is almost always a losing deal even at resale or trade in.

My wife had her latest batch of RSUs grant this morning, stock value has gone from almost $400/share when they were granted to $76/share today Also just finished our taxes and we owe high 5-figures for federal and low 5-figures for state because we dipped into the 32% bracket this year. First world problems and all, but "F" we're down a few Mavericks...

Glad we ordered in June '21 and paid MSRP (minus a few rebates and incentives), the car market is plateauing but it's still insane.

$34K? LOLZ. I cannot fathom why anyone pays a DIME over sticker for these, unless you HAVE to have a new vehicle and only this works for you. I paid $3k less for my XLT Lux, AWD, FX4, 4k tow.

every time someone says "don't pay over sticker," I go look at the used truck prices near me. A new Maverick for 34 grand is a bargain compared to what's out there for used vehicles. Full-size Chevy WT's are 25 grand with 100k miles. Sometimes people just need something to drive now.

I said that in my post. If you HAVE to get a new car I get it. And, I feel bad for anyone in that situation because they are going to be married to that vehicle until payoff.

I came to that conclusion but looked at vs the XL Maverick. Everything in the $22M -$ 23M range was 3 + years old and out of warranty.

Things are worth what someone is willing to pay. If you like it and can afford it, get it. I don't see used Mavericks coming down too much as demand still outstrips supply.
