I have a 2023 XLT hybrid lux package that has the recall with no solution about bad crankshafts that could cause the truck to burn up. I love my Mav's but here is the rub. I also have a 2024 Xl hybrid on order from rollover of a 23 order with hitch and co pilot only. This will come in the next month. I would love to keep both. but wonder if i shouldn't trade the 23 XLT in because of the recall. Any comments or opinions welcome... ? Thank You.

Your '23 may be under the recall but might not really have a problem. Do an oil analysis on your next oil change and see if anything shows up. At this point Ford does not really know which ones really have a problem either. They had to recall a worst case date range of vehicles.

This will be another recurring ST wrong head gasket and pre 2019 water intrusion saga.

Ford had a batch of poorly machined crank shafts, so poorly finished that the engines would fail. Sometimes severe enough to explode the block spraying hot oil/gas in the engine compartment that caught fire in an unknown but small number of hybrids. If your engine is running smoothly you should be good.
I think Ford had corrected the crank issue before the "fire recall" went out so if you have a post June 2023 Mav you're also good.
Still worried, follow @Waterick advice and do a oil analysis for peace of mind.

Google Ford 2.5L engine failures, crickets.

If you have made it through the first 1k, the crankshaft will have been well polished and no longer have the machining issue. You can get the oil checked for what residues are in it, but is is extremely unlikely that its going to throw a rod and dump hot oil and fuel to ignite. Just enjoy it and stop worrying about what was an extremely small chance in the first place, and now has vanishingly small odds on it occurring.

If it bugs you a lot, sell it and order a new one.

Oil analysis won’t provide any useful information.

@MAVRICKDAVE
since some shade has been thrown on oil analysis the comment below is for a standard test

"Spectral Exam: Establishes the levels of wear metals, silicon, and additives present in the oil. Also checks for coolant. To see where the elements are coming from, see the Report Explanation page.
Viscosity: Determines the grade of oil.
Insolubles: Quantifies the percentage of solids present in the oil.
Flashpoint: The flashpoint is the temperature at which the vapors from the oil ignite. When the flash is lower than it should be, it shows a contaminant (usually fuel) is present. This test also looks for moisture contamination."

wear materials will be present with a poorly machined crank i.e. bearing and crank materials.

Since you can only drive one Maverick at a time I would get rid of the 2023 when the 2024 arrives.

I'd just do this as well. Peace of mind and simplifies the situation.

Your '23 is likely out of the recall zone but got included so FORD could legally cover their booties. '24 is a safer bet and we are finally starting to get away from COVID production hiccups (er... at least some brands are).

Did not know about this recall.did Ford officially notify you like the turn signal bulb recall? Or did you " find out" somewhere else.

While I agree that he may be good to go, IMHO, there is nothing that would "polish" the crank. It sits on softer babbit bearings, ditto the con rods. If the crank is "rough", it can increase the bearing/crank gap and "COULD" cause problems with clearance, lubrication, and oil film characteristics. Oil analysis for crank and con rod bearing material is a great suggestion. My two cents, and I won't argue if I get a nickle in change... ;-)

You can go to ford.com and find out what recalls, if any, apply to your specific truck.

Google> ford.com recalls to get a direct link for checking.
