I have a '22 Cyber Orange Hybrid XLT that Carvana is presently offering to buy for $22,200. I found a Ford Gold Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) '23 Maverick Hybrid in Cyber Orange Hybrid XLT at an out-of-state dealer for $22,500. After fees, registration and transportation, the all-in price would be just shy of $24,500. Mileage of the two vehicles is within 500 of each other. The '23 has the XLT Luxury Package and bed rails though, minus the sliding window on my base XLT (which I've used twice in four years).

The advantages of the CPO program is a 12 month/12,000 mile additional warranty, another 2 years/40,000 miles added to the powertrain warranty, same with the roadside coverage, as well as the Maverick having just had the oil changed, new brakes and rotors, new tires (Kelly Edge Touring) and new wipers too - pretty much all standard Ford practice for the Gold Level CPO program. The Maverick was originally leased from the same dealer, then returned at the end of lease and the people are purchasing a new '26 Maverick (or so the salesperson said).

Seems like a no brainer, don't you think?

If no accidents, that's pretty cheap peace of mind with the warranty..... I think I would do it as well.

I agree with Dave O post #2. Verify no accidents, check maintenance history and all recalls performed. If that all checks good, I'd trade.

So for another $2,300, you are getting a vehicle that is 1 year newer, has the lux pkg, has new brakes & tires and has bed rails along with a bump in warranty. Go for it.

Just be careful with Carvana. Their quote might be lowered when they come out and for a visal inspection.

Definitely this.

They quoted me $26k for my ‘24 Ecoboost XL with the 4k tow package and 360.

Then when the time came for them to look it they quoted me $17,500 because I modified it, all I did was install a S&B intake.

Presumably the warranty covers the uncertainty of a different used vehicle. At least it is old enough that it probably wasn't got rid of due to problems, but by someone who wanted new again or bigger.

Sounds like a pretty good deal. I guess there is a car fax or something similar to show no previous accidents. My only question would be this: Do you really want another Cyber Orange?????????????;):teehee:

So you want a trade a vehicle you know the full service history off, and how it was driven, for one full of unknowns? Seems like an odd choice.
Well the one I have is an early ‘22 which means it has had a ton of recalls, plus several CSPs still active on it. And the CARFAX does show the other vehicle’s service history.

Yeah I have an early 22 as well, still wouldn't trade it for a 23, still has a lot of the same issues.
