I added wireless Android auto.

Used the Motorola dongle; it works like a charm, BTW. Only downside is it uses the WiFi connection, so I am unable to use the trucks WiFi. Oh, one more thing, the included glue pad didn't work at all. Used some 3M product marked for outdoor. 👍👍

I also already had this Qi charging pad. Bought it forever ago. It's really slow; basically charges enough to not drain battery while using wireless AA, but hey, wireless and hard to argue with free (because I already owned it).

Your pad (under your charger) doesn’t wireless charge already? Was that an option? I thought it was default.

edit: your usb is on the left and mine is on the right so guess we do have different options.

I'm also using the Motorola dongle and am happy so far. It takes 30 seconds to boot up. I did not like the way AA captured the screen but somebody on here said to hit the speaker button and then the audio button and you get the audio screen back.

Lariat lux only. He clearly has an XLT.

Curious what you mean by wireless Android auto? My 23 maverick pairs with our Android phones when we enter the vehicle.no wires or cords.

You're just connecting to the car by bluetooth. Android Auto is a separate feature that mirrors features on your phone to the cars headunit. It's similar to Apple Carplay.

In simple terms, Android Auto is an interface that replaces the stock or default UI on your car's entertainment system and gives you a lot more options like the ability to use Maps, control media playback, make calls, etc. It uses an app on your smartphone which is mirrored to the screen on your car's infotainment system, either by connecting it via a USB cable or wirelessly, which is the more recent implementation.

It's a driving companion that you can use to perform functions without getting distracted while driving. The main idea is to display large icons, buttons, and menus that are easy to select and also use voice as a primary input method. This way, you don't have to take your eyes off the road to navigate to a destination or to make a call.

Yeah, Android Auto allows you to see the maps and audio apps on the Truck screen. Love it!

FYI, this AA wireless adapter has worked flawlessly for me since I installed it 3 months ago. While there were similar costing twice as much or more, it was only $40 at the time.

I purchased what looks to be the same one on Temu.com and I agree it has been flawless.

There's a setting on the Mavs infotainment screen to disable Android Auto from starting automatically. At least on my Sync 3, Lariat Lux screen.

That's how I have mine set up.

I haven't driven mine much yet so I have not received many calls or texts. I'm wondering if the native Sync 3 system or Android Auto does a better job with those. The voice button on the steering wheel appears to trigger AA when it is on and I want to make a call or ask a question.

I stick with AA, works great. Don't think I've ever tried making a call with Sync 3.

Did you couple your phone with the native system or just with AA?
I believe it connects to both by default when you setup Android Auto.
