For the most part, no.
However, now that Google is blocking mirroring apps like Fermata on Android 14 unless you root your phone, the AA wireless adapter has a developer mode that can enable it.
Thanks for that info. One of my issues is that my phone has been acting up since connecting to AA in the Mav. . One day, the phone screen was only B&W and I didn't even know that was an option and had to search for the fix. Yesterday, the phone went into some disabled mode where I could only call emergency numbers. But most often, in the middle of the night when the phone's not connected the Android voice blurts our that It can't understand what I'm saying. Generally rebooting the phone fixes things. None of these things happened when I just had Sync in the prior escapes.

I use a Garmin GPS for nav, so I'm not dependent on nearby cell towers and eating up my phone data cap.
Are you aware you can use google maps' Offline Maps feature and download offline maps using wi-fi? It can also download offline map updates periodically & automatically, using wi-fi instead of mobile data.
Look in google maps Settings to configure it.

Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, I've used offline maps now and then. I've never tried offline navigation with synthesized verbal directions, so I don't know if that would work or not. Google might have put at least some of that functionality on their cloud servers instead of locally on the phone. My GF has had a lot of goofy problems using her Android 11 phone in her Honda for nav lately. A dedicated GPS is simpler & faster to set up and more reliable in use. I've chosen to not use real time traffic since that ratchets the complexity back up, so call me a Luddite. A career as a software developer has made me want to keep things as simple (and reliable) as possible. It's that whole "weakest link in the chain" thing as well as my phone's data cap.

A note on the Motorola one - mine bricked after about a year. It was great up until that point. Reading the Amazon reviews, I'm not the only one to report that it failed right as it got out of warranty.

Someone posted another listing in this thread, which I'm now using. It has been fine so far.
Been using my Ma1 for a year and a half so far so good.
