Don't overthink it: just put any AGM battery in there, reset the BMS and call it good.

You'll find that random low battery voltage conditions & deep sleeps go away.

This is the battery I put in: UPlus AGM Group 140R, drops right in. Zero issues since installing it 15k miles ago.

Cheers!
We are on track with ordering an AGM to replace our OEM that is fading fast ('22 XLT Hybrid). My question is how do you reset the BMS? Perhaps this is already in the manual but sometimes those instructions can be clear as mud LOL. TIA

Here ya go.
I hope this is the answer to your question.
I believe it is the "BSR" Battery Sensor Reset as outlined in the manual, after replacing their 12 volt battery.

I just ordered this for my hybrid and the seller is sending a reconfirmation email saying I would have to pay return shipping if it didn't fit. Did anyone get the same email? I clicked on the link so hopefully it'll fit. They also said the battery would need charging prior to first use.
Yes, the Amazon seller is REALLY insistent on confirming every customer knows what they are doing. I think I had to reply to them twice (two different messages they sent me) to say "I know what I am doing" before they would ship it. I actually appreciate it. I know they do it to cover their own butts, but it is nice that they don't just shotgun approach shipping every order, since battery format/physical dimensions do matter. I think my reply to them was (even though I am using it for an automotive purpose) "I am not using this for an automotive purpose. I know that this battery will work perfectly for my application. Please ship it."

I put in an LN1 AGM after optimizing it with
My Genius 5 then resetting BMS and letting it rest for 8+ hours. Never looked back. Consistently rests at 12.6v to 12.8v and charges at 14.6v to 14.8v as I drive. Two months in and no deep sleep issues. What came out of Mav was a 390 CCA POS …. It was only slightly better than the 350 CCA battery in my JD LX 280 garden tractor!!! I can’t believe Ford would install a “play” battery in good conscience. What did they think was going to happen ??????
You may have already had a reply, but I was just browsing this thread and came across your post. Apologies if I'm repeating what you already know. Anyway, as it was explained to me, the 12v is used to start your electric motor, not the ICE and thus a higher CCA is not needed.

@JimInWI

The Hybrid technically doesn't care about CCA (cold cranking amps) as that is really only important for the Ecoboost models with a starter motor that is powered from the 12V battery.

For the Hybrid you really only care about RC (Reserve Capacity) as the systems onboard (key fob receiver, Fordpass cellular connection, etc.) draw a good amount of power when the truck is parked. The more RC, the longer the battery will last before you get a Deep Sleep which turns some of these systems off to save battery power.

Here's a link specific to the Hybrid:

https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...t-is-2024-mav-lariat-hybrid.53345/post-911171

For the Hybrid: Group 140R AGM (H4) drops right in, without modifications.

H5 is too large: it can be made to fit but supposedly you need to cut some brackets under the seat. I didn't like that idea even though an H5 offers a bit more RC capacity than the H4 Group 140R AGM.

I put in an H4 / Group 140R AGM 16k miles ago, and the random deep sleeps are completely gone. Zero issues. Charging works as expected. And there's no need to make modifications in Forscan, it works fine with the stock settings.

Cheers!
I just got this battery too. I keep seeing people mentioning about vent holes. There are 2 “ports” on both ends but they are sealed. Did you punch a hole for venting?

AGM battery vents should have a plastic plug at either end that can be moved/removed like on right side of this positive cover most come with.

@Skot5272

I took some pictures of the battery setup in my truck (it has been a while since I installed it!). The new battery has two vent ports, one on each side (like the original Ford battery), which both should be open to the battery interior. Note that there is likely only a tiny venting hole in there, so you may not be able to see it.

And to be honest: I didn't even look for a vent hole inside the ports assuming that the battery manufacturer would not have users have to punch holes in the case. Plus, there wouldn't be a need for a sealing plug on the opposite side then either.

So I simply pulled the hose with plastic L-connector from the old battery and plugged it into the port on new battery. Then I pulled the sealing plug from the old battery and put it in the port on the opposite side.

Battery has close to 20k miles on it now with zero issues, no random deep sleeps, all works as it should!

Pics attached below.

Cheers!

A special note..............It may take up to a full 30 seconds after you pump and release the brake pedal for the brake warning light to flash 3 times. No one told me this and I kept doing the sequence with nothing happening. So I finally did it and waited about 30 seconds, then the brake warning light flashed that I did it.

There are vent holes on both sides of the battery. There is a plug in the packaging for the unused side. You simply plug the vent on the Mav that you will unhook from the flooded battery Into the AGM.

Those holes are fully sealed spots and there was not plug with my packaging. Can you take a picture of your ventilation ports that have a true vent hole?

This is a stock image but is identical to what I have. I circled a “port” on the negative side. The positive side has the same “port”. Those ports are fully sealed and have not venting.
