As I stand, it makes more sense to turn on the software. You already have the hardware in it on the I do is turn it on forscan Megan turn a lot of other things on with forscan

Ford Saginaw spend all that extra money just for switches and windows and switches just to make it go down or up going to be the same thread he goes up or down double up or double down

I meant that it already exists and the hardware.. For XLT and lariat… it’s a software turn on for the switches

oh shoot I get. Auto down. But on the XLT, I don’t get auto up??
Not happening… it’s a gimmick period

I admire your determination but it's pretty obvious there's different hardware involved in the lariat that I would imagine ford uses on many different vehicles that has the feature you want but ford didn't use it in the XL/XLT trims for whatever reason.

I would imagine there are numerous members on this forum that might also like to make the change. If you want to take the lead in performing the task keep us updated along the way, I imagine several might like to follow your journey if it's not overly complicated/expensive. My guess is it will be more expensive than it's worth. Good Luck.

Buy a lariat lux
The question isn't really "How do I get X feature?", as that's the obvious answer, not practical once the purchase is complete, and not a useful answer. It's more a "can I add this thing I'm missing and how?" sort of question. Also a complaint about Ford practicing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enshittification. My last vehicle was a Fiesta SE, a mid-range trim level of what for several years was the cheapest vehicle they sold. My SE had a base price of $16K, and even it had an auto up AND down drivers window. Honda's cheapest vehicles, the Civic and H-RV both have driver AND passenger auto up AND down windows at the base trim, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Keeping Assist which does seem to do the lane-centering functionality. I only bothered to check Honda, but I'd be shocked if Toyota, Kia

But silly me, I wanted a hybrid drivetrain in a truck body, without spending nearly twice as much for an F-150 PowerBoost, and I'm dead-set against leather (or leather-ish) seats.

just circling back to this and curious if the logic for the auto up and down for all the windows isn't just a task for the switch assembly itself. It would make sense that the switch handles the commands, as you program the auto up/down on the switch itself. https://www.oemfordpart.com/oem-parts/ford-window-switch-lj6z14529bb?origin=pla&gQT=2
Thoughts?
The rub is that the operation between the two is completely different.

On one-touch down only equipped switches the driver chip(s) to stop at end of travel are integrated into the switch itself which handles all the power delivery.

On vehicles equipped with full one-touch control they have driver/passenger door control modules that handle the electrical switching/delivery to the motors. The switches just send Local Interface Network messages to their respective modules with the requested input (and the Driver's Door module talks to the PDM over MS-CAN to control that side).

Edit: It looks like an XL/XLT with CP360 should have a Driver's Door Module (since the LH obstacle detection module talks to it), but likely doesn't have a Passenger Door Module (RH ODM talks to HVAC module of all things). So likely you would need PDM, all 4 switches, all 4 motors, and a bunch of rewiring/connectors/module configuration.
