Thanks for the additional replies. I feel there is a certain level of liability for me to get some of them done. I think one of them stated my brake lights might not function or something to that affect. So far not one reply in this small sample saying run for the hills so I think I will schedule the software updates and hope for the best.

I have an EcoBoost, but just had the "mobile service" van come to my house this morning. Had the turn signal outage recall and the....other lighting related recall (can't "recall" what it was for ;) ) done. Now my dash hyper-flashes (I have aftermarket LED bulbs), but my actual bulbs do not. Did a walk-around to confirm. So as long as I am cool listening to a "fast click" from my dash, all is good. Surprisingly it doesn't seem like the recalls killed my ForScan mods. I still don't see the seat-belt reminder or hear the chime, etc.... I'll have to check to see if it messed with my battery charge level. I had upped it to 95%.
Replying to myself.

Ran ForScan on my Mav after the recalls. The BCM definitely got reset as expected. Had to up the battery charge level to 95% again and also disable the turn signal outage detection. No more fast "clicky clicky" when I use my turn signals!

my '22 XLT just had all updates done 3 months ago -I am a wait/see kinda guy(I don't trust nobody nohow -much less a car dealer!) ALL GOOD
Thanks for the replies. I was hoping to hear from a good 20 or so owners so I could draw a firm conclusion or feel for the current state of the software updates. So far everyone seems to be giving me the all clear.

On the same boat as you. Just had a service tech pick-up my Mav a few mins ago. They will be performing 6 recall fixes (under hood fire, BCM software update, side airbag curtain replacement, IPC illumination, turn signal outage, reprogram PWT control module). My service advisor also included the Frozen rear view camera recall in my estimate list. Not sure why, since Ford.com shows theres no remedy available yet. We shall see what happens. Best of luck to the both of us!

I've had no issues with any of the recalls. Didn't even mess with my Forscan modifications.

Well I just went in and got her scheduled for a brain transfusion this coming Tuesday. She told me that they will focus on the safety type of recalls and not do the other two unless I am reporting issues with them. I was like.....uhhhhhhh its a recall...........but anyway I am fine with that. She will get some fresh erl and rotate for $99 and good for another 5k miles. I am at 20k miles and she didnt mention a 20k service which surprised me. I am sure if there is a 20k service that it is all smoke and mirrors but I have to keep my warranty folks happy.

As long as some of those safety recalls that will be done are newer than the older ones - it's the newer firmware for the module, covers all the recalls for that module.

Perhaps she knows this - but odd way of phrasing it then.

And some module upgrades may be counting on another module to be upgraded too.

Ya - get them all, that's a goofy way to put it, just the safety ones.

Ya - there is a 20k service. Unless the 23MY is that different than 24MY.

So here is the 20k service
here's what happens at your 20,000 miles checkup
  • Replace cabin air filter, if equipped.
  • Inspect brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, brake linings, hoses and parking brake.
  • Inspect engine cooling system level, strength and hoses.
  • Inspect exhaust system and heat shields.
  • Inspect half-shaft boots.
  • Inspect steering linkage, ball joints, suspension, tie-rod ends, drive shaft and U-joints. Lubricate if equipped with grease fittings.
  • Inspect the automatic transmission fluid level (if equipped with a dipstick). Consult your dealer for requirements.
  • Inspect the wheels and related components for abnormal noise, wear, looseness or drag.
  • Perform multi-point inspection.
  • Rotate the tires, inspect tire wear and measure tread depth.
Like I said mainly just smoke and mirrors. I am getting oil and rotate done and I will do my own cabin filter so everything else is just a visual inspection. As for the recalls she didnt give me the option to get them all done ....only that they focus on the " safety " recalls first and will do others if I am reporting an issue with them. She said its hard for them to fix something if it isnt acting up. Heck I dont know what to believe.

I believe the dealers are required to complete recalls on safety issues when you bring it in for oil change.

Just received another “pending” recall. Backup camera may “freeze”. Ford will send another notice when they have whatever they need to fix it. At least they fixed the fire issue and I can park it closer to my house.

That doesn't even make sense.

"They" aren't fixing anything with a software update recall (Ford is), shoot doesn't make sense with a hardware recall either - doesn't have to be acting up if it's supposed to be replaced.

With that logic a whole lot of cars would be out there with items not done because it didn't act up. Maybe she's thinking of TSB's and applying that method to recalls - which is wrong.
TSB's can contain info that says if customer has this issue, then they get free part.

Several of the recalls deal with an update of the whole module software package, not like some few lines of code the dealer has to track down and needs an active issue in order to do so.

And all of those modules get and send data to other modules - of which there could be issues if they aren't at their current software level with improvements made.

Well - despite what she says due to lack of knowledge - the tech doing the upgrade is likely to receive a notice that another module needs an upgrade anyway, and will do it.

Hello all. I read a while back that the software that ford was installing to resolve some of these recalls was causing even more problems. I have held off having my recalls done in the hopes that they would work the bugs out. Today I have 20k miles on my 2023 hybrid xl and its time for an oil change. I was hoping I could drop the truck off and have all of the recalls done at the same time. Can I get an all clear? Or do I run for the hills?
Yup… after I lost count on how many software recalls and updates that have been performed on my 22 eco-boost not even including the airbags which were also done from now on I’m going to wait for a long time knowing that they’ll be more recalls and just haven’t done all at once I do not care about the back up camera issue it has not been a problem and even if it does I’m fine driving the old-fashioned way…

'22 Hybrid here. I had all available recall items taken care of this week including the side airbags. I have not noticed any problems. I have noticed that the touchy low speed brake issue seems to have been resolved. Only pending issue is the rear camera one.

Hope everything went well for you (and all of the others out there)!
