Camper trailer recomendation

Looking for recommendations on a camper trailer. My Mav has 4k tow. The only must other than being able to tow it is a toilet and shower. Only two of us and a small dog. Have had pop ups in the past but now wife needs her own bathroom. Thanks

We are recently retired and bought a Scamp 16 ft. deluxe. It has a bathroom and shower. Fully loaded for a week's trip weighed 2900 pounds for us....very doable for a Mav with 4K tow package, even in the mountains. See Scamp Trailers for more info.

Most people forget that the maverick has a maximum frontal area of the towed trailer on top of the 4000 lbs max tow. It's only 40 square ft. Not much. It makes a huge difference. Make sure you consider this with your purchase.

Casitas are really nice , around 2800 lbs, and also hold their value. I plan on getting one in the future.

And most people forget you can add 5 square feet of frontal area for every 5 mph you slow down. So there's lots of options and flexibility out there.

It will, in general, tow anything on the market, safely, at 55 mph.

And will, in general, tow 40 square feet at the highest speed limit in North America, currently 85 mph.

There are no absolutes is all I'm saying.

(I would never tow anything at 85 mph personally, but the truck would do it.)

Edit / P.S. "Can do" and "should do" are not the same. I will not debate whatever someone "should do". That is a personal choice. But I test things out to see what a vehicle can do, just in case at some point I want to do it.

Scamps, Casitas and other fiberglass eggs hold their value extremely well compared to others. Find the sleeping arrangement you want and go from there ( I think Casita has a separate twins).

Travel Lite Rove series looks pretty good. I like the looks of the 16RB. 2020 pounds dry weight, 3500 pounds GVWR. If I keep the cargo down to below 1000 pounds it would be well below max weight for my FX4/4K Maverick.

Do RVs have dealers? When I look online all I get are rv stores. But looking for say Scamp I get no dealers. And castitas will put me in touch with a current owner. That's kind of wierd.

You cannot get a Scamp at a RV dealer. You have to directly order one from Scamp's factory in Minnesota. You can pick it up there or have it shipped to your home at a additional cost.

we looked at Scamps and T@Bs. Was nothing available three years ago to order under a year out. We wanted as small as possible without climbing over each other to get in and out of bed, a spot to stand up to change, and a bathroom with a door. We wound up with a NuCamp T@B 320S Boondock by luck that fit all our needs. It's our hard shell tent we can get down fire roads and into tight remote sites.
