Good hunting!
My story--I wanted a small truck for work, and the Maverick is the only one that fits. I am very blessed to have a friend who is an auto broker* and he found my '23 XLT hybrid (only 7400 miles!) in Texas. I've had it a little over a month, and I'm still having a ball!

I want to use the Mav for lugging around landscaping supplies for the house, materials for reno projects, furniture I find at junk sales, my paintball equipment, towing light loads.

The car I have is my first car ever and it came with lane-assist, blind spot detection, emergency braking, backup camera, heated seats, power window and seat (driver side), it has ACC (I never use it) - I know that isn't the top of the line by any means but I would feel like I took a step back if I didn't have them. Audio system is important, but my current vehicle is pretty standard and I have no complaints.

I feel like the XLT is where I need to be, a Lariat would be the ideal but maybe when I trade up in a few years. The 2024 Hybrid FWD should be able to haul any loads I need to haul - with its 2,000 capacity.

Wow - writing this kind of just clears it up for me. :)
Good info, based on your comments, my suggestion would be a 2025/26 XLT Hybrid with the Luxury Package and all the callpilot options. They’ve changed the packages so much from when I bought my MY22 I have no idea how the options are equipped now days. Good luck in your search and ultimate decision

Good Day!

Since they launched - I have been pining after a Maverick of my own. I am still in my very first vehicle, a 2021 HR-V which was more of a purchase of necessity than a strong want. Over the years I've followed the Maverick production issues and pre-order cycles, biding my time until I was in a position where I could purchase one.

I have been looking at Carvana mostly, seeing several XLs and XLTs becoming available with decent mileage and manageable price point ($26-$28k). The years range from 2022-2024, with 2025s being out of my desired range. I have also considered purchasing with a buddy of mine who is going to buy himself a new F-150 in the next month or so - he exclusively shops online across a multi-state range to find the best deal, he seems to think we could get a deal on a 2025 at the same time.

Does anyone have any advice? As it pertains to the following:
  • Have you purchased from Carvana?
  • Is a used Maverick worth buying if the price point is within $5k of a new one? I will be financing.
  • What year is the best Maverick if not a 2025 (I found a nice 2022 Lariat but it has several recalls on it.)
  • What should I know about my first Maverick?
Thank you all, first post here so if I violated any forum rules my apologies!
Check for 0% financing, can,t go wrong on a new one

One other comment in addition to my previous post. Since you mentioned audio is important, many people on this forum with the Non B&O audio in the MY22-MY24 trucks have unfavorable comments on the standard radio. MY25 and later have a much better audio system- just a thought for you to consider

I looked at Tremors and it was not a fit for me. I didn't want a raised truck even the small amount they are. It would have been a waste of my money. Saying that though they are good looking trucks and if I were in a different place in life that is what I would have bought.
Don't want raised or lowered. Stock is just right.

Good choice. Just be aware that Mavericks may have a very annoying dash rattle. I bought a new Jan 24 built Lariat Hybrid FWD. It was perfect for my old timer needs. Perfect size, very flexible vehicle. Then it developed a very loud and annoying rattle both in the dash somewhere and above the headliner. I fixed a buzz by a ring if fabric tape around the sun visor clips. Dash & overhead still rattled. Traded it even for a super nice low mileage 2019 F150. Week after I traded TSB for FWDs came out.
Really missed the Maverick. F150 was just too big for me now. Got another 24 Maverick. June 24 built, XLT FX4, LUX,4K TOW. It rode / drove better to me than the Lariat & $1K rebate helped. Thought I got a “good” one. Then one nite temps in North FL dropped into upper 60s. LOUD dash rattle returned. When it warmed up, rattle was gone. Only happened when temps below 70 or so. That was it For me. Maverick’s concept is great. It’s the execution and quality of material that lacking in my opinion. Assembly was good, paint was good. Let that one go too.
Good luck, search this forum for dash rattles & you will see what I‘m discussing.
Good luck. I hope you get a “good” one. If you do, I’m sure you will enjoy it.

Step up to the XLT if for no other reason better trade in/resale value.
Buy new and spend the extra $2,000 for the extended warranty out to 100,000 miles.

Try not to finance the extended warranty.
If you need efficiency get the hybrid. Only consider the Ecoboost if you need to tow or climb mountains a lot or like to go fast. Like Interstate drives. The turbo is very efficient at 80 mph. Not kidding !
In the city/urban environment the Mavbrid rains supreme.

I’m in a 2024 I bought new. Beat the $5,000 cost increase. But as the others say I’d buy a new 2025 over any used Mav. That $5K gives you more.

The Ecoboost does a respectable 27-31 mpg out in the open where it can run. BUT !
Inner city the Ecoboost will likely be in the 20-23 mpg range, depending on your right foot mostly.
Your mileage figures are spot on for what my 2025 XLT AWD 2.0 EB is getting.

it's being delivered Monday 2025 XL, Eruption green 2.0, EB, 4K package, drop in bed liner, EW. $31.750 on the window sticker worked everything out with the dealer all taxes , prep, their paper work , tags and all that, $31.500 the extended warranty was like $3000 but I plan on keeping it forever, retirement car. as soon as my 401K opens pay it off in cash.
Post Pictures when You get it.

I agree IMO the non B&O Stereo in my 2025 XLT sounds pretty good.

Thanks for the quick responses - my Maverick will be an every day vehicle for me, so the hybrid is my preferred engine. It will be a commuter/weekend warrior vehicle.

If a warranty is still intact on a 2024, what are your thoughts on that?
Some dealers still have 24 leftovers, look around, I have had a 22 and 25 maverick, and I had no problems, I sold my 22 fx4 to CarMax they were very professional and gave me about 6k more than the dealer wanted to, I have seen some very Bad reviews on Carvana.
If you can afford a 25 its the way to go, 26s will be out soon and dealers will be looking to sell the 25s there should be some good deals to be had. Recalls are nothing but a inconvenience their free, a Ford dealer can't sell a vehicle with recalls.
Shop interest rates and go NEW if you can, as for ECO or Hybrid its a tossup, I got some great highway mpg with my 22 ECO 35mpg and in low 18/20s mpg local, my new lariat Hybrid is only getting mid 30s mpg, only have 2k miles they say it will get better with age, I don't drive much anymore but costing me less than 20 bucks every 2 weeks, am saving 10 bucks a fill up, some guys on the channel are getting 40/50 mpg or more on their Hybrid's but they have learned Hybrid driving and doing a lot of coasting and slow starts, you sound like a youngster and you could have a heavier foot. Good luck

Check with Granger for the warranty, Get a 10 year warranty, and the light protection for about $50 more. (LED lights need the whole light replaced, they don't have bulbs)

Thanks for that! I am really looking forward to the mpg on the Mav. I currently get 32 mpg in my HR-V which is where it's estimated for the highway driving I do.

I have an appointment with Carmax to get a price for my HR-V and once I have that lined up it's off to get the best deal on a new 2025 or 2024 (if I can find one).

You should be able to get an instant quote from carmax (unless it has been in an accident) ahead of your appointment. I’ve never been offered less than that quote and in sometimes more.

Oh great! I did get an instant quote so I guess we will see when I bring it in. I just figured they give you an instant quote and then attempt to lowball you when you get there so I was mentally preparing myself.
