Good choice. Just be aware that Mavericks may have a very annoying dash rattle. I bought a new Jan 24 built Lariat Hybrid FWD. It was perfect for my old timer needs. Perfect size, very flexible vehicle. Then it developed a very loud and annoying rattle both in the dash somewhere and above the headliner. I fixed a buzz by a rind if fabric tape around the sunvisor clips. Dash & overhead still rattled. Traded it even for a super nice low mileage 2019 F150. Week after I traded TSB for FWDs came out.
Really missed the Maverick. F150 was just too big for me now. Got another 24 Maverick. June 24 built, XLT FX4, LUX,4K TOW. It rode / drove better to me than the Lariat & $1Krebate helped. Thought I got a ā€œgoodā€ one. Then one nite temps in NoRoth FL dropped into upper 60s. LOUD dash rattle returned. When it warmed up, rattle was gone. Only happened when temps below 70 or so. That was it For me. Maverick’s concept is great. It’s the execution and quality of material that lacking in my opinion. Assembly was good, paint was good. Let that one go too.
Good luck, search this forum for dash rattles & you will see what Iā€˜m discussing.
Good luck. I hope you get a ā€œgoodā€ on. If you do, I’m sure you will enjoy it.
I did see someone talk about this in another thread! Looks like someone found a fix on Amazon by using a rubber trim between the windshield and dash? I think a crowbar was involved? lol

Oh great! I did get an instant quote so I guess we will see when I bring it in. I just figured they give you an instant quote and then attempt to lowball you when you get there so I was mentally preparing myself.
No CarMax is pretty good (at least in my experience) at honoring the quote they give you as long as the vehicle checks out.

It’s absolutely not necessary but I always give the vehicle a nice wash and the interior a clean out and wipe down so they believe the car has been well maintained (mine always are) whether that is true or not

Don't underestimate your wants and needs. Spend enough time driving a couple at freeway speeds so you understand the noise factor as you are coming from an SUV that is probably quieter.

Example: Early, 22 and some 23 XL and XLT don't have the sound cushions between the fender near the door area. Noise. Lariats have double laminated front windshield- quieter.

I would advise getting the newest year you can afford as FoMoCo has made constant improvements both in construction and tech. Early models had Sync2. You had to buy a 22 Lariat with lux pkg to get Sync3 until it became standard in all in '24 but now Sync4 is standard in all levels.

It may have been the same video, but I recall one where the owner stuffed a bit of cardboard between the flat of the dash and the right front pillar.
Good hunting chasing the noise!!

Thanks for that! I am really looking forward to the mpg on the Mav. I currently get 32 mpg in my HR-V which is where it's estimated for the highway driving I do.

I have an appointment with Carmax to get a price for my HR-V and once I have that lined up it's off to get the best deal on a new 2025 or 2024 (if I can find one).
You have to weigh the advantage of selling to CM and trading it to dealership there's some advantages to dealership in tax savings. In my case I was 3k ahead even losing taxes money. They even drove me to pickup my new vehicle. You can get a price on line, then I drove to them to confirm because it was so much higher than dealership.

šŸ¤“ I have an extremely early 2022, like 11-2021. I’m not sure I have a sync2, i’ve always wished I had a better stereo.

Spoke with a dealership and the listed price went up almost $3000 because of that product, found out only after talking to the saleswoman.
Well I realize a quality "Professionally" done ceramic coating on an entire vehicle is not cheap, but at the price point of the Maverick I would do a Hard Pass on that. Sounds like your dealer is adding on stuff to make a huge profit margin imo.

Thank you all for your awesome responses, taking all your feedback into consideration - I am greatly considering going with a new 2025 or a new 2024 (just found a 2024 XLT for $23k~, just need to drive 300 miles to get it).
Fabulous šŸ‘Œ

Don't pay for all the add ons! It does not make sense to pay $3000 for protective coating and then spend hours of your life trying to get them to honor the warranty which they probably won't. Just pay for the vehicle, minus any discount plus sales tax and license fee. Pay no junk fees.

It may even pay for you to try an HONEST dealer like Long McArthur in KS and make an adventure out of it going from LA to KS. Or Granger Ford in IA.

To learn about Mavs, search youtube and watch Maverick Monday videos that Tim and Sarah at Long McArthur have been doing since Mavs first debuted.

You absolutely don't need that, and there is probably more of that coming. Be prepared to get in the muck and wrestle with them, or better yet, find a better dealer. Because:

 to add to my previous post, just for laughs - no offense to anyone, I'll add a few words from a great Bob Seger song

she was a black-haired beauty with big dark eyes
points of her own settin way up high
way up firm and high
