Took delivery of my truck today. Here is how it went from ordering to delivery.

In August I ordered with a local dealer, Davies Ford in Charleroi, PA. They would not discuss price but promised me they would take care of me and not over charge me. I ordered what I thought I wanted. A week later I found this site and decided I wanted to make changes. I added a few things with my original order (no problems making the changes) and then ordered another truck with Chapman in Philly., hoping to get a cheaper truck faster. Chapman Quoted me a guaranteed price.

In October I made a few more changes (no problems with either dealer making the changes). In the end of October I decide to remove Tonneau cover and spray in bed liner from both orders. Chapman took the items off, but Davies said "No". They said my truck was going to be scheduled the following week and they couldn't make the changes.

They were right, I was scheduled with both items Early December build date. Win for Davies Ford. I was not scheduled with Chapman.

Around the 5th of December I contacted my original dealer and they said the truck was entering production even though Ford tracking said it wasn't. The dealer kept assuring me through the month that things were progressing. At the end of the month Ford tracker updated rapidly through a week from introduction to shipped. Win two for Davies Ford.

In the beginning of January my Chapman ford order got scheduled for end of February.
Ford tracker said my first order would be delivered Feb 1st through the 7th. Of course my dealer said it would come in a week early. This Sunday I saw the owner in church and he assured me it would be in this week even though the tracker said next week.

I got a call this morning telling me my truck was in. I could pick it up today (wing three for Davies). When I got there I was sold the truck $500 off MSRP plus $500 first responder. I didn't get what I was hoping for on trade in, but only by $700. Also they put a front license plate holder on. Even though I emailed, called twice, and talked to owner this morning to beg him to not have them put it on. That isn't the end of the word. The wife wants a front vanity plate anyway.

Long story short. Not all dealers are crooks, mistakes happen, but I had a dealer who was on top of what was going on, gave me constant accurate information and didn't try to swindle me after.

What a beautiful truck man, congrats to the both of you! Sounds like your local dealer wasn't perfect but did you right by honoring MSRP and the discounts you applied for. I love hearing positive stories like this about local dealers.

Congratulations that looks great. I told the salesperson not to put on the front license plate. I even wrote to him and told him this in a phone conversation.

I should have bet the license plate would on the front bumper. I would have been a rich man. I knew when I got there there would be a front license plate. When I mentioned this to the sales person, he acted like he never heard from me.

I was buying a new car, and this was not going to let my buying experience go sour. He really could care less.

I had a decent experience, but I would never recommend the dealer or sales person.

By the way 124 miles now and the truck is great.

Enjoy.

Davies Ford has always put a plate on the front of every vehicle they sale. I bought a Ranger brand new from them back in 2003 when they still had the Connellsville location and it had a plate on it. I think that used to be part of their slogan? Something about if the plate doesn’t say Davies you paid too much?
Picked my Maverick up from C Harper today. Thankfully, No plate on the front!

They told me that they put a plate on every truck that comes in. The guy who preped/detailed the truck didn't look, he just put the plate on. haha. Not a deal breaker though. If that is the worst I dealt with I am lucky.

I told my dealer not to put the front license plate on and they didn't. Looks so much better.
