I already sold my 23 Hybrid because I need a truck with AWD and 4k towing package to replace my F150. I need a car that does great in the snow and can also tow my small camper, so I saw the writing on the wall that I needed to sell my Maverick to get an AWD. I will be placing an order tomorrow as soon as the order banks open up.

Those that own Hybrids - will we see the "value" drop on the FWD version because people will prefer the AWD version? Do you regret buying your FWD hybrid and not waiting for the AWD that we knew was coming at some point?
Nah, I’m good! If it snows I won’t go!

No regrets here. I have a trailer to tow things with and snow tires for winter. No need for AWD for me anyway.

I took possession of my hybrid Maverick in July 2022. I've put 37,000 miles on it, mostly driving Texas highways. I certainly haven't regretted the 40 miles per gallon! There were probably 3 times in the past 2 years that I've wished my Maverick could carry and tow more weight, but being in Texas I have a few people with larger trucks that are willing to help me out. I really love my little yellow (cyber orange) truck!

All I wish I had out of this was the 4k tow package.

Hells no my dude. I would keep my $22,545 build with my sliding window, 400 Watt console inverter and Area 51 color. If i went for a XL Hybrid AWD and 4K Tow package, it would be $31,650. Hells nah!!!!

Oh. And i get a free engine!!!

Something to consider with the AWD hybrid is you will now have several other parts to service and potentially repair over time. If they did it like the AWD systems on other Fords, there will be a PTU box on the back of the transmission to service, then you have the driveshaft to the rear end, then a differential in the back to service, then another pair of axles going to the rear wheels.

What surprises me is they didn't just put in a slightly bigger hybrid battery pack, and install a electric motor / tranaxle out back to power the rear wheels when needed. Would be less complicated and likely less troublesome.

I have no regrets owning a FWD hybrid. I am not sure if AWD was optional if I would pay extra for it.

The 4K towing would be nice though. I am curious what is different about the 25 models to support towing 4K....

I am not too bothered by the new front end of the 25's... I wouldn't say it is better, but I also don't think its way worse than the 24 models. Especially on the lariat, which is the model I would have. I remember when Ford updated the Superduty trucks for the 2023 model year and everyone hated the new styling, but I actually like the new superdutys and have some regret getting a 2022 and missing out on the updated styling.

I do have some regret that the new model has a much bigger and better Infotainment screen and the all digital dash. I would love to have that in my truck.

As someone who has been waiting since 2021, and just received theirs in the past two weeks, I can say no. However, it does feel like this is going to be an inflection point amongst Mav Owner's. A lot of us came to this site because we loved the truck as it was for the past 3 years. That included creating a community of like minded people not afraid to get their hands dirty, play with a mod, fail, come back and do it again. It's a culture of DIY enthusiasm. Moving forward Ford seems happy enough to see our efforts and adopt new fixes and new features to save future buyer's the hassle. I'm OK with that. The 2025 isn't for me. It's for the future.

No regreats buying the FWD hybrid Maverick. It all depends what your needs are. I live in Florida, no hills, no snow, nothing that all wheel drive would be needed for me. If I ordered a 2025 Lariat, I would get AWD, you can't order one without it.

Many of us have been driving so long that there is no longer buyers remorse. But man, I really do want to upgrade to the same build +AWD. The problem is, the original deal I got was so good, there's just no letting go. Perhaps if I sold it private party. Maybe I'll do the math on it and see what I would need to get to make financial sense. If I can't get that price, I don't sell. Just need to figure out what 24 months + 30k mi + AWD is worth to me.

But then again, this one has been flawless and I'd have to roll the dice again.:please:

I thought about this too but I am happy with the screen I have. I think I prefer having more dials and buttons on the console as opposed to buttons on a screen. Four months in and I can pretty much do what I need without taking my eyes off of the road.

Don't get me wrong, I like tech but I like what I have... I would have liked built in wireless CarPlay and Sync 4, but I added a wireless dongle so...

My last SUV came with a 1" x 6" amber monochrome display, the first time I used OnStar for directions and saw the directional arrows pushed on to the screen I nearly died laughing.

Nope. If I were buying today, with the price difference between configurations, I would be buying the 2wd.

I live in snow country, and 2wd is quite adequate. The tow limitation is likewise a non-issue for me.

Yes, I am a cheap XL hybrid owner. So, I'll keep my money, but thanks for the additional choices, Ford!

Yes I agree with this assessment. The application of the AWD system is going to further complicate the drivetrain and will result in additional cost to service/maintain/repair. If not really needed, it's an unnecessary expense.

I don't think the AWD system for towing would be a realistic solution if just part time. It needed to be able to be turned by the engine 100% of the time, so that necessitated the driveshaft implementation.

In addition, this is the first model year of the HF55, a new transmission. The HF45 has been out since 2020 and I'm sure little fixes were put into place over time as Ford found them, meaning by 2023-2024, most of our units should be good to go. No one really knows if the HF55 is up to the job of 4k towing and AWD in long term testing.

No remorse. My 2022 sticker for $27,800, a 2025 is $33k. AWD makes it a $35k truck. I don't drive it often enough to spent that money. In most parts of the country AWD is not really necessary. As for the money part, with the way Ford keeps raising prices, I suspect demand for used Mavericks will remain strong. I'm happy to sit here with my 2 year old, 4500 mile, non-depreciating truck

I have your the same build minus CP360. You're a good MTC member, but of course that's not enough miles to warrant any changes. I'm looking at 24,000 on the clock, 30k come winter. AWD + CP360 + 4KT minus XLT Lux (to offset the cost)would be a nice upgrade for anyone but it would be a game changer to me.

Still, I don't think this is the year for most owners. I'm gonna wait 1-3 years maybe more.
